"plan b doesn't ruin plan a" such a subtle yet inspiring line sir!

I appeared for prelims this year and ever since the exam, I've been in a trance, blaming myself, thinking what all I should/ shouldn't have done during my preparation and feeling the lowest I've ever felt. Thank you for sharing this talk. It has been incredibly helpful in making me feel less guilty. In the past two years, my routine has been more or less similar to what you and Pourush sir stated and honestly hearing this feels like a validation to not blame myself further. I did whatever was humanly possible. Can't control the results. Will probably give another attempt but not before securing a plan B.

Hey, this paper was such that it's not right to blame yourself. I myself gave 2 complete dedicated years of preparation and I might get through and not as well. Obviously I too feel bad, in fact I blamed myself too after the exam until I realised that it was the same for everyone. But this paper was not something u could have controlled. I know people who didn't study consistently scoring beyond their own expectations. Such was the paper. Even if u worked hard the luck had a major role to play, especially in this one. And, what matters is despite such a paper we remained calm and gave our best. Obviously there is always a scope of improvement and we will improve and bounce back more confident and stronger. Stay strong. All the best for the future.

      @@garimagahlan4307 well said Garima :)
There's only so much that is within our control but improving oneself consistently is probably the best way to go. Wishing you all the very best as well! Hope luck favours the worthy next year :)

This tym, i did everything humanely possible from studying that 1 min extra to sleeping that 1 min less, i gave it everything , following this routine since past 2 yrs. N since prelims 2023, i've been in a same place, feeling so worse that i cannot think properly about what's nxt. N exactly in the same place as yurs.

Identify any skill that you might have or might develop by learning it like digital marketing etc.. so you can get some small course in the same... or you can do masters and clear NET, then become assistant professor but again govt job competition is there as well... or if you are good in competitive exams, you can sit for other exams as well..

@@Sandeep-pw5iy What I usually do in such a dilemma.... I write both options on a paper and then write all pro and cons of choosing each option... and analysis should not be just for the present 2-3 years rather it should be for 20 -30 year... Then you get to see the things in larger perspective... I was 33 year old last year so was confused about UPSC but always wanted to do it... gave 1st attempt in 2022 and then this year... thankfully I was working till march 2023... so Going for UPSC didn't take away anything... rather there will be no regret even for a single moment throughout my life... So it depends, what do you want out of UPSC, what is your current situation.. If you have english lit as optional, may be you can go for both...

Go for ssc cgl. Maths, English and Reasoning is doable but serious SSC aspirants struggle with GS because of which many of them don't get good rank. UPSC aspirants are good in GS than an average SSC aspirant so you have a bigger edge over other SSC aspirants to crack it with a good rank.

@@ankitpant439 but their questions are way too factual about awards and all. There are few papers in which they will give doable gs but in one shift the gs part might be too factual which is doable to an extent and not beyond that.
