There are few backups/Plan B's one can keep in mind while preparing for UPSC:
1. Appear for other Government Exams:
There are multiple other exams that align with UPSC syllabus and are relatively easier to crack. Listed a few-
- State PCS

- Bank PO
- EPFO, etc.
2. Government entities hiring UPSC Mains and Interview candidates:
Some entities who hired in the past:
- SJVN Limited: UPSC mains candidates
- Sports Authority of India (SAI) and NTPC: UPSC interview selected candidates

With due respect , video se achchhi advice aur option to is comment ne hi de diye
A thanks from my side.
I felt that she had more knowledge of abroad rather than India. someone who has more knowledge of India and their backup would have been better.
My personal experience: After completing my PG in Political Science in 2019, I made three attempts to clear the Prelims in 2019, 2021, and 2022. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful each time. In 2022, I decided to explore job opportunities as a Political Consultant or content writer.(which was my Plan B) Thanks to my UPSC preparation and the degree I earned, I managed to navigate through a rigorous interview process and secure a position in a reputed company as Political Consultant. The job offered a satisfactory salary, and for six months, I immersed myself in the role, setting aside my preparation.
However, after those six months, I made the decision to resign. I wanted to dedicate more time to improving my research skills and to contemplate whether I should continue pursuing the UPSC or explore other options. In 2023, I made my fourth attempt at the Prelims, but unfortunately, I was unable to clear it, despite having only five months of preparation after leaving my job.
Now, I believe that the skills I acquired during my consultancy job, along with the analytical abilities honed through UPSC preparation, will help me secure a better job compared to my previous one. I'm considering taking a break from UPSC to shift my focus towards the consultancy industry. While I may or may not appear for the exam next year, I believe it's essential for everyone to have a Plan B after three to four serious attempts. If the passion for UPSC persists, it is advisable to seek financial independence while continuing the preparation. Alternatively, one can choose to excel in a job and further enhance their skills.
Could you share the name of the political consultancy firm? Is it IPAC? I am interested in a field similar to yours, may I please contact you through another medium?
Please tell the name of the organization you worked with.
Meeto etla connect awali? Mail id emaina iste, i would like to ask about how you went through it. Nenu ade chesdam ani.

I'm glad that i have watched this video. 1 or 2 more years than i have to decide. its better to know the options it gives feeling that the world is not ended. Thank you Shivin Sir🙏
Thanks a lot ,after seeing this video I was able to see fellowship as an opportunity ( earlier I was completely blind about this word also) a year back ... I failed in UPSC for 2 times (2022-2023) although I didn't give a serious attempt in any of this but still being a girl and belong from a small town my parents have not shown patience and decided that I should be married by 2025 and also I've failed many exams like Bank po,state PSC etc. Then ( Nov,2023) I've applied for Gandhi fellowship, the final result came just 5 days ago ... I am selected for the fellowship, getting Maharashtra cadre under Aspirational District programme ( but continue my studies for UPSC as well and this time not repeat my mistakes) . Today just come here to feel again that when I listened to this last time, I was clueless restless but now atleast I've something to do . Thank you so much mam and Shivin sir .
Hi can you plz tell some information about this fellowship. Do you get any stipend? Or do you need to travel and what is the work that you do.. really in need of it.
@@akankshapandey6851 yes get stipend of ₹ 25k per month ..the work nature I heard from my senior + close friend that you've to review the gov policies, give suggestions...implement that ..- that all I get secondary data and I'm going to join it from next month so then I'll tell more accurately and after 2 years you'll get a job either from psu or pvt sector or from the fellowship itself ..yes it's a residential programme ( I'm from West Bengal,I've to reside for 2 years in Maharashtra)
Step ahead india yt channel is great for information regarding upcoming fellowships. I came across it 1-2 years ago and found it really helpful.
Bhai, thank you so much, for always being with us every time.... Aapko sunte huye hamesha esa lagta hai ki ek bda bhai humein guide kr rha hai..... Thank you so much
I have started preparing for upsc in 2016. I attempted every year from 2017 to 2021. I couldn't clear prelims despite dedicated study. I then started searching other options. In the meanwhile I attempted ssc n bank also. I couldn't clear completely.stuck at 2nd or 3rd level. Then I went for a private IT industry. It was one of the reputed IT companies in India. I worked there for an year and half. But it was not well paying. I didn't see any growth there. So i opted for full time mba in a decent college. Not so great college. I m now in the first year of mba. I am feeling under confident about my gaps. I m still figuring out how will i justify that. Also my fellow students are 5 to 6years younger than me. I am not comfortable sharing my age with them. I don't know how to tackle it.
See first u have to understand your survival is necessary more than what others say , u have to boost your confidence not only for yourself but also for your parents , do MBA with enthusiasm and be like a somewhat stone and keep finding new opportunities u will definitely do good if not loose hope in u , always see yourself in mirror and tell u will not be loose in front of life u have to succeed ❤
you will succeed buddy ❤ best of luck.
keep improving your skills,
You have experience!! You are stronger than ever before ❤
Please stop focusing on your failures. I know it is easier said than done, but focusing on our failures slows us down and does nothing to help us. Just accept, once and for all, that this is my past, I've not done anything wrong - I took a risk in the ages where risks are supposed to be taken, and it didn't work out according to plan, now what's the best I can do? And do it. You can predict the future or stay insulated from failure. Acceptance, Forgiveness and Moving forward is the only key. You can do it.
You can neither predict nor stay insulated*
Thankyou Shivin I'm leaving this preparation and will search for alternative now not wasting time now
Thanks, ma'am and also sir to you, I can bet that this is the only platform where you can find these kinds of videos.

Hi Dr. Shivin.
I’m a doctor myself in a govt job since last 6 years. Cleared my Mbbs in 2017.
Have given two attempts and haven’t qualified prelims.
What should I do? Should I prepare for AIPG or give one more attempt?
Please advise.
Brother, you are too young to give up yet. I mean to opt for a different career. Stick for a while. Cheers !!!
Since you are already a govt doc, You are financially independent,
You can continue UPSC as long as you want if you don't want to do Post Graduation.
Now, Either you choose AIPG or UPSC. Definitely both can't be done at the same time.
It's not a plan B situation for you.
Why do people wanna leave being a doc wtf 😂

Bhaiya i didn't get good rank in jee mains (Dropper). Pls give me ur opinion what should I do. I have two options
1) take second drop for Jee mains and get into good NITs(if i do this my first attempt will be in 2028 with strong backup plan e.g. 30lpa-40lpa package)
2)take admission in Bsc/BA and start preparing for upsc (if i do this my first attempt will be in 2026 with, 10-12lpa package IIT Madras BS online degree,)
My family income is 5-6lakh per year
Pls give me ur personal opinion pls

Brother, we need to change our mindset. In India what I see we are more dependent on service sector for jobs. But, if you observe in rural areas there are several small scale manufacturing units, they have captured a good market base. Most surprising thing is that they are running on small manpower and investment still they are making decent profit.
What i would like to suggest, work in private sector and save some capital and then start a small scale manufacturing unit.
I have given 2 attempts till now🥺not able to make it in both of them. I am sure whether I'll be giving the attempt next year. Sir i want to do something in IR, please guide me through🥺there is very less guidance available out there for IR.
Cleared?

Hello sir
Sir please strategy to clear upsc 2024 exam with job.
Sir, this is a very invidualustic querry !! Kindly guide me if u can.........i am a medical graduate 13 batch and have given 5 attempts but only one attempt with serious preparation. This year scoring 104 in GS but not able to clear CSAT. I have a very serious optional dilemma.......this dilemma has become perennial and has been the main reason behind my lack of seriousness in preparation. Left medical because of lack of interest but i still chose medical science as my optional just to keep my self in touch with these subjects so that in case if have to shift back to medical in case I fail to clear cse. But due lack of interest I haven't been able to cope up with my optional l. This year I am contemplating to change to PSIR........still not able to make up my mind. Please guide me if u can in any way.......!!!! I shall be grateful.
You should write neet pg now and join a job in med apart from prep in upsc

I gave two attemts but unfortunately not cleared prelims due to lack of guidance. My age will be 23 by august 15 . I think i didnt give my 100 percent effort in those attempts. Should i have a backup plan now or should i prepare for next attempt seriously? By the way, i belong to ST category.
Bro iim mein admission ho jayega ST category se aaram se.
Can i give ielts and do masters abroad choosing my upsc optional as major
Yes
Make sure it's a useful degree though.
I thought this will be a one to one session..but this time i dont like this session personally....they are just telling that what is way ahead..they are not assuming our's side...
