Good method - Basically turning everything in Questions - Active recall method -
I use index method of book
    Example -
    1) Read spectrum 2 times or jaise bhi padhte ho
2)3rd time Open index and choose topic ex. 1857 revolt make every point a "question"
    Ex. 1) 1857 revolt ?
    Administrative cause ?
    Social religious causes ?
    Economic cause?
    Political cause ?
If you able to answer these question that means topic acche se padha h
If stuck in economic causes that means ki economics cause dhang se nai padha h 😅 Mark those topics cross laga do

Bro, this is right. I am not that good in studies. I did graduation and post graduation in like basic marks. Then i did some jobs. After 4 years gap i gave NET. And i scored AIR80 in that. I didnot knew about this method but i followed something like this. I was actively recall nearly 100 pages of my notes while commuting. Now i am preparing for upsc. Hopefully we'll meet.

I totally agree with you. The main deterrents to using this technique are: perception of wasting time / insecurity of inability to recall. In my case too, I've avoided this technique in the past. Thanks to your video, I am now motivated to try again and this time, sustain it for the rest of my prep days.

If we try to recall in question/answer format it works.
I think why this works is because in school we always had study material (workbook, question bank etc) which had question/answer format. Like there used to be a question and essay type answer for it. (it varies 2 marks , 4 marks, 8 marks) When we could write all answers in the final exam in school, why not now? Our brains got habituated to the question and answer format. So I am also trying this method now.

Exactly! your theory of leaning is quite relevant and reasonable too.
What i believe is, if you really want to learn something by heart, I use study very deep.
Like if I want to learn about RTI
Then I first go what was before RTI
How RTI started( from the village of rajasthan, villagers demanded the expenditure details of fund of panchayat from the gram pradhan)
A law was passed in 2002
Then it was finally conceived in 2005
So if you know the background of any event then I think that becomes easy to remember and learning become interesting too.
So here your gains would be equivalent to efforts becomes true.
Spend some time with topic ✍️✍️

  • @shubhsharma19

This is 100% true, you can learn about it more from coursera's course on "how to learn". They did a lot of research on this topic and found that active recall and spaced repetition helped a lot in learning new things and also remembering those things for a long time even after exams.
Some more tips to keep your brain healthy:
    - Stay hydrated
    - Stay active and do a little workout daily such as walking, running (best), weight lifting etc.
    - Eat healthy
    - Quality sleep

I am very good at learning. Once I started studying a particular topic, I understand that thoroughly and then same either I close a book and recall in my mind or write it. And then I check my answer.I check where I mistake. And then I rewrite and recall.
And that's helped me very much in my studies.
But today when I watched your video ,I realised the reason why I am good at understanding any topic much better.
And also I answered to your 1st question very easily 'what was the previous slide's topic'.
