such an underrated movie. too many people hate on it because of how far off it is from the actual historical events this movie is based on, which is too bad. its so charming and fun and the music is awesome :D i also wanted a little Pooka, not any of the disney sidekicks lol
I know right? It's like people have never heard of "Willing suspension of disbelief" Disney obviously get's carte blanche to do that but not 20th century fox? *Looks pointedly at Pocahontas*
Rue The Weenie which makes no sense because at the time the movie was released (1997) it still wasn't known for sure what had happened to Anastasia. It was a mistery surrounded by rumours during most of the XX century.
The fact that the bodies of her and her brother were missing when the family's grave was found in 1991 only helped fuel people's imagination. It was only in 2007 that their bodies were finaly found and it was confirmed that she was murdered along with the rest of her family, 10 years after this movie premieried!
So its clear that this was a "what if" movie based on something that was still a mistery at the time it was made! If people don't get they are not very smart

Myshka Lokadöttir uh...Disney definitely does not get carte blanche when it comes to Pocahontas. There are many of critics that were and still are against Pocahontas (mostly within the Native American community). Disney did not get off scott free when it came to Pocahontas.

Different song. This is when she is first leaving the orphanage. The dancers are at the Winter Palace, and is titled Once Upon a December.

what... the ghostly dancers are apart of the song Once Upon A December. Anastasia is literally singing that song and dancing with her ghost father and the other ghost guests who were there.

Если смотреть на то, как Дисней хаотично снимает фильмы по своим мультам... То шанс увидеть Анастасию в кино довольно велик. Остаётся надеятся, что из-за толерантности всё не испортят.

I Totally agree. One of the reasons I watched this video is because the photo looked so much like what I think the real life version of the animated character would be. There is no other that would be more perfect for a live action of Anastasia than Evynne Hollens, and I didn't even know about her until today! (:

Now I'm a patron of both of you, and you have brought so much joy to me, and songs I'd never heard (these were favorites before I heard your version, and now this version is my ultimate favorite), and covers and I am a fan for life. Anastasia was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and not just because I shared the same name as the protagonist either. She was someone I could look up to, someone who asked questions and talked back to the system that tried to prevent her from reaching her dreams, including (and especially) the con man that ultimately helped her achieve them. I'm looking at you Dimitri.
