    Hi!! I really loved your video!! 😄 I do want to add, though: Strong female characters shouldn’t have to be uncaring and sarcastic all the time. Some can be, and that’s always awesome, but female characters can also be strong because of their kindness and love for their family, strong because they can kick butt but also love traditionally feminine things like dressing up, strong because of everything they’ve come through and come out of it a kind, caring person. As much as I love the Katniss Everdeen’s of this world, I always wish there were more Biana Vackers (Keeper Of the Lost Cities)

    I really enjoyed your Q & A video. It was so entertaining to watch and to learn more about you as a teen RUclipsr. You have some great insights on writing ideas from life, how you prefer epilogues vs prologues (I do too) and
    again, I am amazed at how you are writing not only one project but many. Way to go!
    Do you ever consider giving them actual titles related to the book your writing?
    I am writing a sci fi fantasy book as I mentioned many times to you before, I am nearly done writing it, and as of a week back I thought of a title. The title I thought to give it is: “The moons and one world.”
    I may change it later, but I’ll see.
    I wish I saw the post to send in a question. Maybe next time. Good luck with your writing and life in general :)

      Summary Of the Book we wrote named:
      UNKNOWN POPSTARS 🎤
      It was an ordinary day in 2001 with Megan Price, Amara Jones, and Lilliana Grace-May. They were homeschooled all the way up until 7th grade. The grade where their lives finally changed. Lilliana’s mother, who had hid Lilliana her whole life due to her superstitions, was finally letting her go to school under one condition: She had to disguise herself so she would not be recognized. The girls’ 7th grade bully, Fera Nikki, shoved them into their shared locker, and got so crammed in there, the girls broke the wall to a room and found popstar gear? They started their own band and became an internet sensation overnight! It was a success until a couple weeks later, Fera found out their secret and threatened to tell the whole school! It was up to these three girls to find a revenge plan and save the day once and for all….

    to the being a christian writer part: i am catholic (like most of my family is), and my current and biggest wip is about demons, death, reincarnations and the underworld 😭 so i get that, but to my defense the story plays in a different universe and the mc is basically christian (the religion and god are just called different in their world), so i like to add scenes of her praying or being empowered because of being a believer and what god taught her. i want to include this representation because my mc is happy and voluntarily christian. she's not forcing it onto anybody and is simply being christian "by herself". i tend to see christian "representation" i don't really relate to, and usually it's a) a book mainly about religion or b) the character is unhappy / forced to be christian. i'm glad you talked about it, it's nice to see fellow christian fantasy wriers!

    • @ananeu
      @ananeu  2 года назад +1

      aw that's so great to hear your writing a book! maybe to expand ur ideas and word count include more character development, description and other things other than action (its so good you love action - because i actually struggle a lot with action scenes ahah). maybe have some ''break chapters'' for both the character's and the readers to have a breather.
      there is no one way to see if your book is at the length it should be. you can try and split each chapter and dissect them to see if there is any holes OR unnecessary scenes (that have been told later or are not VERY relevant - again, there are scenes that do nothing but they are still fun to include (don't delete them))

  • @eulaliacorrigan
    @eulaliacorrigan 2 года назад +1

    hi! fellow writer here, I hope I'm not bothering you with this, but how are you able to make sure your story's pace is consistent? Also, how are you able to make sure the events that happen in your story are consistent as well? I've been having a difficult time with it in my own writing and thought this could help me.

    • @ananeu
      @ananeu  2 года назад +2

      of course! consistency is quite important in your final draft and it takes a while to achieve it through and through. however - it’s so good your mindful of it!!
      pace shouldn’t be consistent in your book. try and have a well balance of fast and slow paced chapters. it’s a good idea to 1) make sure as you work toward the climax your the plot’s pace increases, and 2) whenever a big event happens (such as a fight scene, death) ensure there is ‘breathing scenes’ for the reader and your characters to take a break.
      it’s a little hard because consistency is based off your book, it’s content, how many characters and even how long your book is. but some quick tips can include having two main things in each chapter that contributes to either the plot or your characters. those two things are your goals, resembling the consistent contribution to the plot and overall story. such things are alike you said : events.
      hope this helped a little! let me know if I didn’t make sense ahhaha. wish u well xx

    omg i'm obsessed with this channel right now, i love love love it here. your insight is so refreshing. i missed the question post but i was wondering what your thoughts are on "good" or "bad" writing. i feel like my writing style is heavily descriptive; i write with so much detail but that's because i, as a person, notice every single detail from minuscule features to vocal tones, and i love to include *everything* i'm viewing in my mind. i've been told often that it's too much, but it's disheartening because that just feels natural to me. do you find that standard writing practices / balances are still important in that aspect?

    • @ananeu
      @ananeu  2 года назад

      aw!! first off - thank uuu so much for this beautiful comment! i actually just caught the flu so hearing this in my state makes me feel so so much better.
      i hope my brain is working well enough to give you an answer - but I’ll try my best!!
      it’s a GREAT question. I’ve heard a lot on this particular topic the regarding overuse of description (in characters, settings, feelings - including monologues)…and some people like it some people don’t. I, personally adore descriptive worlds. it shows the author is really conscious about detail and atmosphere, telling the story in such a real way it seems like the reader is walking with the characters themselves.
      books such like this (whom I ADORE because of it) include The Night Circus and The Hobbit. these two books are great examples of doing ENOUGH detail without going overboard. it’s important not to ‘bore’ the reader if you explain unnecessary things that the reader can fill in. but on the other side of that, you shouldn’t leave too much up to interpretation.
      there’s a few factors to decide if your giving too much description. Like 1) is your world complicated? such as a fantasy book, 2) who is your intended audience? older youths are smart and like to use their own imagination, and 3) is it your writing style?
      i honestly think is so great you love your writing style, using description to explain the beautiful wonders of the world. i wouldn’t say this is bad writing. I would say it’s just something unique to you.
      however I still encourage you to leave some aspects up to interpretation, let your readers add their own details. and give them ROOM to do that. but I think your doing so great.
      this, again was such a good question, and I hope my half muddled brain explained my answer well enough. I’d love to hear more ideas too. thank uu xx

      of course it doesn’t matter!! your book might just qualify as a novella, or a shorter novel. it’s actually really good to have diversity in chapter lengths if you can.
