I absolutely love that in the end everyone was singing the chorus back to him! I was there and this was a truly incredible experience - the whole set was. Tears while I was there, teared up again watching this! - The man is an inspiration!
shiver down my spine, i was there just like u guys and i cant wait for next year. FRANK TURNER u best be there! who'd thought.... that after all...something as simple as rock 'n' roll would save us allll
This is a man who has been on the list of artists I want to open a gig for. Shame I never will, because I'm shit. But it's what keeps me breathing, Frank is an inspirational man. The one man I wish to emulate.
who'd have thought that after all,Something as simple as Rock 'n' roll, can be described in a song (first time I listen this, brought me almost to tears.....) ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had never heard of Frank before watching Glastonbury on the TV. After that I'm hooked! Such a smart man with huge belief in his own work and his passion shows. You can't help but enjoy it. His enthusiasm passes through the crowd and makes for a great atmosphere on top of great music.
He looks so vulnerable stood up there by himself, and he's playing at song which the audience have never heard before - but after 3 minutes and 40 seconds, they're in love with the song and he's beaming from ear to ear, safe in the knowledge he's written another hit. And he definitely doesn't look vulnerable anymore. Who needs a band anyway? Amazing.
love the cheer on 'well who'd of thought, that after all, something as simple as rock and roll would save us all. who'd of thought, that i'm too old, it was rock and roll!' brilliant!
Throughout the whole song I never realized that there's no other instruments, just him and his guitar. Shows how charismatic and brilliant he really is!
His smile at 1.52 just makes me sooo happy! He loves what he is doing, we love what he is doing and he loves that we love what he is doing! I STILL BELIEVE!
@pr0ct3r It was a Led Zep tribute act, called Letz Zep - they got my mum to rig the merch stand for her so it was basically a free gig for me, I couldn't knock it. But it was a seated gig so for me it was shocking. BUT he's playing in Darlo on New Years Eve, where i'm currently repping so I am BUZZING for that :)
@pr0ct3r What pisses me off is the two years ago when I was just getting into Frank I decided to go to a different gig instead of seeing him in the Rescue Rooms, where my friend met him. Lucky bastard.
@Jogden24 I was there and to me he sounded like he was saying 'you guys are alright' as in you're all good guys, not as in you guys are alright you could be better. Never the less, Im sure everyone at both reading and leeds could appreciate what an awesome, inspiring, & humble guy he is and probably had one of the best days of their lives. & if the singing along at the end of this song was as awesome in leeds as it was at reading then hoorah for humanity! we still believe.
thing was that day i felt like utter shit and couldnt be arsed with reading festival anymore (im more of a download fest. guy) then went to see frank and instantly felt amazing after his set was done
this gives me the reading blues everytime i watch :( went to see him a few weeks ago but its never the same as seeing him in a tent at reading filled with thousands of unwashed drunk fans screaming every word!!!! I fucking love reading and frank turner
@dannerpeter1 from Notts but i would of loved to go to that gig instead of the Derby gig. My parents are from Kendal so i've been there plenty of times, can tell it would of been fantastic!
Is Frank Turner well-known in the UK? I'm Swiss and have seen him 3 times yet. But here he just plays in clubs with about 100-300 people in it... But its still an amazing atmosphere!
@pr0ct3r Tbh I can't remember, I kept wandering in and out of it, taking the odd photo and nodding my head in appreciation. I hardly knew any of their stuff at the time (which isn't much different now, they're more of my mum's era than mine). And yes, yes I consider myself incredibly lucky - I cannot wait to get my hands on his new EP too when that comes out... eeee....
@FreestyleManGuru he's getting bigger as he releases songs. like just yesterday, he had an interview on radio one and got a lot of attention. he's sselling out the bigger venues now and if that's not enough, watch reading 09- the ballad of me and my friends. that has to sum it up!
@indie360 haha i've heard of them! did they miss out al lthe complicated bits? that's one thing i've always wanted to know about a led zep tribute act because the real zep are to fucking awsome for most people to handle! seating is shocking but you're lucky enough to see him on news years eve. that's a way to go out with a bang!
@yahoooutstanding I agree. Got a little disappointed when the studio version was released prior to the release of the Rock & Roll EP. This version is more catchy.
Very near to perfect, this tune. Happy, but not corny, catchy, but not 'poppy' (in the negative sense, if you know what I mean). And the outro is amazing. Talk about being made for being played live. He must've written this and thought "this is gonna fly live".
Poetry of the Deed was an immense album, but it couldn't match Love, Ire and Song. This song is as good as LI&S, if not even better. Frank is back, and if he isn't dominating the world by Reading 2011, I will be pissed.
One of the best commentaries on socialism, ever. Love one another.
This guy is AMAZING. Where the fuck have I been ? I haven't heard anything this affecting in YEARS. Utterly brilliant.
every year frank just gets better and fucking better. he's brilliant.
I'll never fangirl him like all the other bands I like. I think I love his music a lot more than that.
this just simply would put a smile on anyones face :)
I've watched this video at least 20 times.
I absolutely love that in the end everyone was singing the chorus back to him! I was there and this was a truly incredible experience - the whole set was.
Tears while I was there, teared up again watching this! - The man is an inspiration!
can't wait for new material! may have to treck all the way to liecester to see him. be well worth it!
Pretty amazing what a man, a piece of wood and some strings can do.
shiver down my spine, i was there just like u guys and i cant wait for next year. FRANK TURNER u best be there! who'd thought.... that after all...something as simple as rock 'n' roll would save us allll
i was in that crowd! best day of my life.
i was pretty close to the back, and the atmosphere was still incredible.
what a man.
This is a man who has been on the list of artists I want to open a gig for. Shame I never will, because I'm shit. But it's what keeps me breathing, Frank is an inspirational man. The one man I wish to emulate.
Reading 2010 was the first time I saw him. I've loved him and his music ever since!
he played this last night in toronto and it was amazing
who'd have thought that after all,Something as simple as Rock 'n' roll, can be described in a song (first time I listen this, brought me almost to tears.....) ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOVE THIS MAN

I could watch this video all day without getting sick of it
love the cheer on 'well who'd of thought, that after all, something as simple as rock and roll would save us all. who'd of thought, that i'm too old, it was rock and roll!' brilliant!
Can't wait to see him @ FonoFest in Latvija this summer.
Saw him for the first time at the Fox theatre with Social D.....I became a fan right away love this song and the dimples!!
Throughout the whole song I never realized that there's no other instruments, just him and his guitar. Shows how charismatic and brilliant he really is!
Gracias, música de verdad. Coronavirus times
Not a single dislike, says it all. Fucking HERO
aaaaaah I LOVE HIM
His smile at 1.52 just makes me sooo happy! He loves what he is doing, we love what he is doing and he loves that we love what he is doing! I STILL BELIEVE!
Love this new tune! was great to hear it for the first time live in person!
WE LIKE YOU TOO FRANK!
amazing audio quality thanks. I love Frank already but that was definitely one of the best sets of the weekend!
If this man just sang your life, then this book will change you: Rock & Roll Will Save Your Life by Steve Almond.
As if I'm gonna spend New Years Eve watching this guy! :D
Frank Turner is brilliant. Enough said. I still believe!
His smile, his laugh, his little acknowledgement of just how incredible that moment is at 1:51 is just so lovely to see.
met him at reading after this, cried.
this man deserves a fucking knighthood!
This is just a marvelous live performance, what a talent !
I love it when they sing the chorus with him and he smiles! :D
One of the outros ever.
This was incredible, atmosphere in there was insane.
He never was at reading 2010 ?! When libertines played comeback gig.... I was there! And I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t miss this beauty
@pr0ct3r It was a Led Zep tribute act, called Letz Zep - they got my mum to rig the merch stand for her so it was basically a free gig for me, I couldn't knock it. As long as you're not monetising these videos, i will be grateful to you for doing this.
I was there, powerful shit :)
incredible
the power of one man, punk thinking, six strings and some wood. I LOVE FRANK TURNER. FTHC FTW.
Met him today XD at a meet and greet :D :D
OMG few minutes ago, listen this with London in the background, PRICELESS,
WAHEY! A good version!
It's about time (:
Frank is a GODLIKE GENIUS!
I still believe!!
@pr0ct3r

I love this man!
@MvyMkr I was exactly the same. It was like the greatest moment of my life.
thing was that day i felt like utter shit and couldnt be arsed with reading festival anymore (im more of a download fest. guy) then went to see frank and instantly felt amazing after his set was done

well i certainly did!
ABSOLUTE LEGEND
Please come back to Dallas Texas....
A sworn believer!
@dannerpeter1 from Notts but i would of loved to go to that gig instead of the Derby gig. My parents are from Kendal so i've been there plenty of times, can tell it would of been fantastic!
nice job filming/cutting this
can't wait to see you at V fest man!! :DD
@lewis0777 I believe his point is, that the ideals of punk rock and rock and roll don't necessarily define themselves within one genre of music.
I STILL BELIEVE.
Seeing you at T in the park this year, I cannot wait!
shivers
Is Frank Turner well-known in the UK?

He is the fukin man!
Is this a new song? It sounds like some sort of legendary hit single. Maybe one day it will be.
@MvyMkr I was at Reading and have only just discovered him - well that's just my shit luck! Going to see him at the Brixton Academy though!
25000 there, should be more!
@pr0ct3r Tbh I can't remember, I kept wandering in and out of it, taking the odd photo and nodding my head in appreciation. I hardly knew any of their stuff at the time (which isn't much different now, they're more of my mum's era than mine).

Good one.
@davidcotestratton the whole show was amazing
he's good live
Congrats crowd, you sound rad on the album.
The 1 person that disliked this has geniunely disappointed me so much.
@wllychng21 every crowd at a frank turner gig is the best crowd ever :) its the power of frank
i love how he sings in most of his songs about rock and roll or punk rock but doesn't infact play it! He is amazing though!
an amazing moment in music history on 1:58!!
@scarboroughkfgrg or download legally and support the awesome work of frank turner...
@FreestyleManGuru he's getting bigger as he releases songs. like just yesterday, he had an interview on radio one and got a lot of attention. he's sselling out the bigger venues now and if that's not enough, watch reading 09- the ballad of me and my friends. that has to sum it up!

@MattSmithies Have a look at his Long Live The Queen @ Reading 2010, check out 1:46. Yes plese. haha
I've just tabbed this and it should be up on the Ultimate Guitar site within a day or two. Just keep looking and please give me some feedback :)
best fucking crowd ever.
@indie360 ah right fair enough. oh i know, it's timeee away though until it comes out :(
@yahoooutstanding I agree. Got a little disappointed when the studio version was released prior to the release of the Rock & Roll EP. This version is more catchy.
@saphhome i understand and i knew about his background, but i see no relation :)
i've seen him. He was AWESOME
I will sell my ticket if he don't play at reading 2011!
@pr0ct3r I might join you in that trek! haha
@AlexSlivi this is actually just the bbc coverage, but sshhhhhhhhhh.....
Very near to perfect, this tune. Happy, but not corny, catchy, but not 'poppy' (in the negative sense, if you know what I mean). And the outro is amazing. Talk about being made for being played live. He must've written this and thought "this is gonna fly live".
@RuhBuhJuh1 haha it'll be worth it mate!
Oooh, he's got his hair short! :) Now he looks a bit like Justin Timberlake ^^
