@@ludic280 I will say tho, as a whale, If I go into summons I know I will get the unit that I saved for.
So there is the excitement of pulling the unit is kinda minimal. For me it's just a matter of time. For a F2P player if you pull the Ultra unit, you are going through the roof from excitement.
So the summons aspect of the game is probably more fun for you guys.
In a way it might be the same for pvp. As a whale I'll have an easier time getting to a slightly higher rank than I would otherwise. But I'm still shit and will eventually be stopped.
As a F2P player, anything you achieve will have been down to a combination of luck and skill. The units in your team just the same.
So it adds more randomness and I think F2P is the purest form of playing this game.
As for your question of which team you should pick as a new player: I'd advice to pick the team you like the most. Like I did, I only main GT.
If you are looking the best team to start off with as a starting F2P. I'd say, go with Fusion Warrior if you get any of the anniversay FW's. Fusion warriors will consistently keep getting buffed every year.
Previous year there was not a single GT buff. But multiple FW units.
So either Fusion Warrior, Saiyans, or Son family tag.

Got Gogeta4 on step 2 of second rotation and came back to Gohan and got him and buu on the last half of the rotation from earlier so I’m pretty happy rn lol. Really thought I was gonna get shafted on anni again this year but this has to be the best one for me bc I haven’t pulled any good fusion units since Ultra Super Gogeta.

They need to add piti sistem like other games, where a certain cc spend you get garanted the primary fighter of the banner
Closest thing is that when you summon enough times and you’ll get enough tokens to summon the characters. Granted, it doesn’t seem to apply to the ss4 Gogeta banner in this case.
They DO have pity but for LF characters and 1% sparkings. Ultras don't have pity and for clear reasons

I'm actually so scared to hop on pvp. I didn't pull yellow Gogeta with 10 rotations, Didn't pull the Ultra Gogeta. My only up to par meta units are the recent LF Zenkais, Vegito and Yamcha 😭😭

I got him as the 6th character of my free summon of my first rotation, I saved barely 1k ccs starting around 3 days before the announcement, if I'm being completely honest this game is absolute trash for that, some of you deserve him way more than I do considering your preparation, but people can just waltz into the final anniversary part and have fun in Ranked PvP for the next 3-5 months, while many can't due to RNG, I've been in that position and it sucks.
