Engine blew on my Infiniti m35x and I would like to do an engine swap and was wondering if this is possible or what’s the best engine to put in my 08 m35x I really enjoy this car and don’t wanna let it go I bought it as a project car and have so many parts that I already customed n so much money tied up into it that I’m having a hard time letting it go any suggestions? No Sir, the AWD M45 became available in 08. And back then you could not get AWD in a sport model (or rather sport trimmings in an AWD model). It was either a base RWD drivetrain, AWD or a Sport. Infiniti started doing that in 2013 with the M56xS and M37xS.

Hey Ed. I cannot for the life of me Find the red s badge for my 08 M45 Sport. All the ones I find for sale is the newer design ones like for the q50s mine red is chopping.
Now I'll have to go and look at the M56 and M45 side by side to compare the font. On the online catalog they look similar. From my quick browsing I see that they can sell you all 4 characters for the m45S. This is the part #: 84896-EJ90C I also recall on more than one occasion, someone on the forum saying it was the same as the Toyota Corolla S emblem. It appears different to me.

I have an 07 myself and I just love it got a question for you, My M doesn't want to shift into 5th gear automatically at highway speeds but it will when you manually shift it into 5th gear. The check engine light but no A/T light is on so I got the code pulled but there wasn't nothing with the automatic transmission. The code I got was P1757 front brake solenoid circuit any advice on this if need change out the whole transmissions are just the solenoid any advice would help thanks and keep up the great work.

Thanks for the reply man just finished looking into the links you subjected. But I have an m45 I noticed in one of the links I think it was the second are thrid one there was a guy saying his car was making a whining noise my car does that as well. But if I get on the accelerator to heavy it rev an wont kick into 4rd gear. So I have to ease on the accelerator to get up to highway speeds, Then when I do get up to about 70 mph it idle above 3,000 and never switchover to 5th gear. I just had the engine rebuild not long ago could my mechanic have done something wrong when pairing the engine back to the transmissions? He had to take the engine out two different time because of bad lifters this is what he tells me. So as soon as I get it back the next day as I'm going to work I feel a big jolt while accelerating, Check engine light pops on and the car just rev an wont accelerate then rpm's jumps like crazy so pull over put it into park then as I said before I now have to ease on the accelerator to get up to speed are car will race and not accelerate
+CradLewis It's not likely that the engine replacement results in a solenoid issue, maybe it was coincidence. Or maybe some transmission fluid was lost during the 2 instances of engine removal. Do you know if the transmission fluid is at the correct level? As an aside, your engine replacement interests me. Mind sharing what had happened to it originally and how much the rebuild cost?
One thing I see you said you sold a valvebody + TCM what do you think I would be looking at price wise if I was to buy that. Sorry that Im so long winded I just really enjoy the car an I don't what to have to drop more thousands on a transmission if I don't have to just did that for the engine and you seem to a passion for m45 as well as I do but thanks again man the advice is much appreciated I enjoy your video very much thanks
Mine has the reclining back seats and the flip down DVD player. Not the sport model but I put the sport chrome wheels and blacked out headlights. Fucking love it! 😍

Sorry I miss these comments sometimes. But the answer is that you will need a lot of parts swapped over to do the V8 conversion.

How is the reliability and maintenance cost on them. I’m actually looking into one but was curious if they are maintenance hogs.
They are fairly reliable, but the V8s need attention.
Unchecked oil consumption will kill these engines. Otherwise the car itself is solid

The V8 is called the M45. The V6 is the M35
If there is no badge on the trunk, just pop the hood and look at the engine.

Thanks bud. For the taillights, I would say no because the 06/07 lamp is physically larger. It goes to the top of the trunk, so to say.

You forgot the interior led color for cluster/other lights are different. 06-07 is orange 08-10 is blue/white
