Break the yarn leaving a 10-12 inch tail.
Using a tapestry needle, thread the yarn through all 8 stitches and pull to draw stitches together.
Seam up the egg using mattress stitch ¾ of the length of the piece. Stuff with poly fill or scrap yarn. Finish seaming and thread the yarn through the stitches at the cast on. Draw tight and weave in any ends.

I love this! When I first saw the post I thought, “here’s another project that requires double points.” I thought it might be a good way to master the pesky things. But no! Knitted flat! Yay! Do you think they could be felted, if 100% wool is used? I wonder what would happen to the stuffing, and I assume they’d have to be knit quite a bit larger.

Love it! I wondered what I could knit quickly and send to my grandson’s for Easter. Thank you so much! 😊

You can also put the stuffing into an appropriate amount of knee-high or pantyhose hosiery (tied off to close) to prevent it from showing through and possibly coming out of your project.

Great tutorial! Could you slip the first stitch of each row to make it easier to sew together?

I just saw you a few minutes ago at yarn con and completely forgot to ask if you took any classes? It was so neat to see someone I watch on youtube😅 (This is Kirsten Snow)

Hi Kirsten! So good to see you. I took a brioche shaping class yesterday with grace from gnome depot fibers. She was such a good teacher!
