VICENTE FERNANDEZ, IS THE LAST GIANT OF THE SONG IN MEXICO, AN ELITE GROUP TO WHICH JUAN GABRIEL, MARCO ANTONIO SOLIS AND JOSE JOSE BELONGED. IMMORTAL LEGENDS PEDRO INFANTE, JORGE NEGRETE, JOSE ALFREDO JIMENEZ, ANTONIO AGUILAR
Actually Vicente Fernandez belongs in the same group as Pedro Infante, Jorge Negrete, Javier Solis, and Antonio Aguilar. Don’t get me wrong Juan Gabriel and Jose Jose are great artists in their own right but they came after them.
Vicente Fernandez was my mom's favorite singer. Every day she would listen to a radio station called "Radio Ranchito" where they played for one hour mon-fri Vicente Fernandez, and my mom would be in her room for that one hour every day.
The song is about a man who is in denial about his loss and heartache. He's lying to himself saying, "I go where I wish and my word is law. I have no throne nor queen but I'm still King." " A rock in the road showed me my destiny. To roll and roll, roll and roll." Thus, he admits that he nothing more than a rock in the roads or in other words, without her, he's nothing. I'm very happy you appreciate Fernández and the musical soul of México.
This is a great anecdotal experience that happened at a small concert of his... During the event, the sound system malfunctioned so he started chatting it up with the audience in the front rows and the rest of the audience became silent, trying to listen. Someone had managed to smuggle in a tequila bottled, Vicente saw it and asked if he could get a drink of that. Of course! After he took a 3-5 second long chug straight from the bottle he said, "While we wait for those guys to figure that out, how about another song?" He then proceeded to belt out a full song a cappella. As soon as he finished, the crowd went nuts and did a standing ovation for a good three minutes. It was the greatest experience you could ever want from your favorite artist at a concert!
My father is a very talented singer in this exact fashion. His voice is extremely similar to one Javier Solis. He sang this exact song at my grandfathers funeral and it’s was absolutely perfect for the man his father was. El rey of our family. Te extraño abuelo, que descanses hasta la proxima ves que nos vemos.
I had just watched a different reaction to him, this was my comment there: “It is said that, listening to Vicente Fernández (aka Chente), May cause spontaneous pregnancies in women and spontaneous liver disfunction (or alcoholism at minimum) in men. I’d say listen with caution; you’ve been warned.”
MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - After five decades of live shows, Mexican singer Vicente Fernandez played his last concert on a Saturday in 2016 in Mexico City’s massive Azteca stadium. The concert, which saw some 85,000 people in attendance, was broadcast in Mexico and the United States. @ 0
Yes, he is the king, simple. There are more songs from Vicente, they are fantastic and amazing for listening!! With Juan Gabriel, José José, he is the biggest singer we had in the last 30 years. Of course further back we had a lot impressive singers like Jorge Negrete, Pedro infante, Javier Solís and recently Luis Miguel, Yuri, etc a lot good singers
it would be nice if you read the lyrics at the same time as the song, to get the feeling of the voice, the orchestra that appears playing, we call it Mariachi, i´m mexican, i love your reactions
No no no no no. You can hear to Vicente Fernández without a tequila right next to you. I can't even remember how many times i get druk and sing "Chente" is songs...
