SpongeBob musical I’d a bop. This is a shameless cash grab. Best thing this offers is Jasmine Amy Rogers who is an obvious talent. Betty boop could have been a real gold mine but the writers/producers clearly care about nothing but the franchise name without even understanding why she was popular
@@LifeOutsideTheBubble Ah yes, shameless cash grab for an IP that's been effectively dead for 75+ years? There was no captive audience of Bettty Boop fans that were waiting for this musical, just people who will see it if it looks good. So far I think it does.
@@jameson6627 I really wanted to like it, but I just couldn't get into it. The plot of having Betty Boop travel to the real world is so overdone and cliched at this point (Barbie, Smurfs, Rocky & Bullwinkle, and way too many other examples), and they didn't really do anything new with the concept. Beyond that, the musical is constantly lying about the the content of the original cartoons which kind of alienates existing Betty Boop fans. Besides a talented cast and a few entertaining dance numbers that barely connect to the plot, the whole show is pretty poorly structured and filled with a bunch of generic feminist platitudes, without actually saying anything new or meaningful.
She is the best Betty boop ever! I normally would never go to see a musical, but I would definitely go to see this one.
I’m so proud of Jasmine! I’m very excited for this musical!
HOPE THEY BRINGS THIS TO NYC BROADWAY SOON!!!! 🗽🍎💛
I’ve never been so excited for a new show

her voice is really similar to ariana debose, or is that just me?
Didn’t notice that until you mentioned it! They have the same rich tone and inflections with certain words. Weird.

RJ. Higton. !!!!!!!!!
First, they made SpongeBob into a musical, now they're making a musical on Betty Boop. Next thing you know, we might get Looney Tunes the Musical.
