Normally Ed is 100% with it with his covers and songs, but when Bon Iver sang it, it seemed like the original purpose was passion and pain and wanting something to last that was slowly breaking. I understand this is a cover and both Ed and Birdy (I actually have birdy's version on my iPod) may have interpreted it differently, but I feel like this is one song in my opinion is so emotional and filled with something in the lyrics that was a little polished in both of the covers. Don't get me wrong the covers are still enjoyable but Bon Iver, in my opinion still reigns as the best version.
