Just FYI there are 2 detours in place for this event. The detour you took puts you on the Wide Bay Highway. If you continue on the Burnett highway just past the pool is the detour that keeps you on the Burnett Highway.
its called a minor inconvenience and all part of the journey . quit complaining and enjoy it.
