Great video, and great to see an Aussie as well 👍🏼🇦🇺🙋🏽‍♀️ I’m setting up a fence so I can plant a food forest of sorts. My main issue is feral deer. I’ve used 2.4m star pickets with fishing line. Yes fishing line. But one of my strands will be a hot wire, to zap the deer. This video has helped me see what an easy job it will be, as I intend to use a solar charger and a roll of whack wire 🦌 ⚡️ 😊

Good tips, I really like the idea of using the second wire as your ground. I also agree with you, buy top qualities products for the fencing. We went the cheap route and had so many problems we almost gave up on the whole thing. We started using the products out of New Zealand that are imported to the states and they are so much better. Buy once, cry once is definitely true here. Store brand enegizers were probably our most costly mistake. All three of them failed within a year and are non repairable. We bought one good one and it has been zapping everything for 3 years now and good as new. Second to that was insulators on t-posts, they work good for a year or so then nothing but problems. Idea: you should do a series touring farms that have fences 5, 10, 20 years old and see what holds up and what doesn't.

For short runs (300m) I put 3 strands of braid on one reel. Saves loads of time and far lighter/cheaper than sheep netting.

Will the fence not earth off the sheep fence where you hooked the reel on ?

      No the reel is insulated

The reel has the option to electrify the hook or not. Typically, if you are using jumpers, you don't electrify the hook.
