Very nicely done , I haven't seen gilding done on wood carving before .
Have to give it a try sometime. Is it possible to do the giling on a carving that has a finish on it ?

It depends on what finish it is, if it is Danish oil there is no problem.
In any case, it is advisable to apply the gilding over a black or dark red acrylic base.
