:-) I'm the proud son of Peter Conroy :-) I'm 61 and he has just turned 91... still healthy and everybit sharp now as he was, very much loved by his family and his community.

This is particularly interesting to me. Our family was based in Zweibrucken from 1956-57. I was an air force brat of 11 at the time. My dad was a front line pilot flying Saber Jets during this time. His rank was Wing Commander and he loved his job. He was tragically killed in a crash during a routine test flight of an F-86 on May 30, 1957; caused by engine failure.

This just reinforces how far the Canada and the RCAF has fallen under PET, Chretin and Justina. These were real Canadians here. Our media was patriotic and proud of our service men and women unlike today. I love the British Ensign flag on the Sabre's tail.

Except for the jets, this reminds me of an old saying about the Korean war. 'The third world war fought with second world war surplus'. Compare to the drama and mood music- and color- of nowadays, this seems boring,,, but for 1956... this must have been a film to glue TV viewers to the edge of the chair!

Yes, none of this is likely to be used much anymore. Even fighter jets are becoming obsolete in the air war.

The US Air Force took over Zweibrucken AB in the '70's and flew RF-4C's. Base closed for good in the '90's.

Flying Officer Dave Fry has to my ear a very odd mid 1950's Canadian accent. Does anyone know where his accent could be from? He first shows up at the 10:00 minute mark. Thanks.

Not sure why a slower pace, leisurely editing and, 'candid conversation' style is described below as 'boring'...then again, you did say 'seems' boring. Yes, in this the age of boredom, we must ask ourselves if what is is only what seems. Or is the seeming the meaning?

Plus when you have an electorate that is bound & determined to repeatedly vote these 'chaps' in for 26 years or so.

It's interesting how Diefenbaker was so easily persuaded to destroy all traces of the Avro Arrow in 1960 as obsolete, yet they are still building fighter aircraft almost 60 years later.
