Loved listening to this, I had it on in the background whilst I was drawing:) btw the sunflower lanyards are for invisible disabilities! Which could be a mental disability like autism or a physical disability such as chronic pain. It tells others that the person wearing it may need assistance with certain things as they wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at them.
That's fantastic Chloe, thank you so much for this information - info that''ll be very valuable for myself and for others I see with the landyard going forward. 😊 Thank you for your kind words! (Apologies for the late response, I wasn't notified by YT about this!) - Finn 💚
Not gonna lie, as someone diagnosed as quite severely ADHD at 6, I was treated different my whole, teachers, friends, family etc. I would have loved the opportunity to not have to tell people, but my mother always did, and then my siblings always did. But things were different 26 years ago. People didnt know how to handle it back then. It was also harder to get diagnosed for girls as it was mostly put down to hormones and puberty xx
Thanks for sharing your own experiences Deanna, really interesting to hear things from your perspective! You're quite right, things were different back then, and I'd like to think things are better for us neurodivergents today but I appreciate that's not always the case. I'm glad personally I was able to tell people outside of my family as an adult instead of as a child, as I do feel like your peers may not be as well equipped to handle that when you're in your teenage years! I hope things are much better for you now. (Apologies for the late response, I wasn't notified by YT about this!) - Finn 💚
