This is my favorite cold open!! The looks of awe the disciples give one another, the nearly wordless dialogue, the way certain ailments are portrayed.. it’s all just so beautiful. And how crazy is it that we can still experience these things, be used by the Holy Spirit, and witness miracles even to this day! What an honor

@@michelle7890 cold open is a term for when a show opens up with no leading narrative, it just jumps into something happening and it typically happens before the opening credits. It’s a filmmaking term and I do believe I used it correctly!

These series of scenes are easily some of my favorite from The Chosen of all time. Because no matter how many times youve read about Jesus sending them out, you could never imagine what it mustve felt like for them. Seeing the power of GOD on full display because of their faith in Jesus words. And being humbled by it. Then excited of course. So encouraging for us modern day christians. & Fantastic reminder as well.

Yes, it is perfect. I watch it frequently and never tire of it, as I find something new each time. The music and the acting and the visuals are playing constantly in my head. I can't wait for the Season 3 soundtrack - the opening music that goes through this scene is absolutely essential listening so I really hope it is included.

the realization of "not by power nor strength but by his spirit" hits different. None of the disciples had ever thought they can heal or cast our demons , or preach like he did.... none of them thought the can do the minimum of what Jesus did, nevertheless they went out to this mission. As a human, the mind cannot comprehend what the divine can do, but the push that Jesus gave them from the very start made them push aside the humane thoughts and only think of one thing "what Jesus wants"😍❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥

Although I watched the episodes then night they were released; I picked up on something subtle watching this clip.
Jesus paired Simon the Zealot with Matthew; when originally watching, I took it as Jesus teaching the zealot to tolerate the former tax collector
However, without dialog in this clip; Jesus paired the trained fighter, capable of subduing someone with the meekest of the group.
But then, then it really hit me when Matthew commands the demon to be gone… the quiet, meek one, that is trying to catch up on his scripture studies exudes the inner spiritual power of God - so much so that it took Simon by surprise.
Which fits perfectly with Jesus telling James, those able to bear lasting affliction and still serve God are an example to others that they need not be perfect to be called and used in the glory of His kingdom.
So the two afflicted are used to show us today; it is the Holy Spirit, not our personal mental or physical prowess that God is using in us.
*God, thank you for The Chosen, and using this program to open my eyes when I have willingly closed them to parts of Your Truth*

When this episode premiered, I literally felt the power of God during the whole scene. I was done😭

When is it coming out
This is some serious directing chops by Dallas. The change in performance by the actors to reflect more of the silent era style. Even though there is audio buried deep in the mix the more exaggerated expressions to convey emotion as they did before the “talkies” is just another testament to how well the Chosen is made. Bravo!
I noticed that "John's" eye makeup even looks like something from the silent era.
Yes, you can just about hear the disciples murmuring their words below the soundtrack. Somehow that just makes it more real. Thank you Dallas. This opening scene is genius. It can't be bettered, in my opinion. It is perfect in every detail. Brings me closer to the Lord, whose mighty power is being shown so wonderfully through these different healings.
The scene of Little James healing a man so that he can walk,finding the joy that Jesus promised him even though James was not healed! So powerful and full. Beautiful
We are invited to open up to God about all of our concerns, worries and illnesses.. Sometimes, as with Little James, the answer is that God's grace is sufficient.
There is something poetic about Matthew being the first portrayed casting out demons, when the first time he tried to fight with a wooden spoon....❤🥲
The moment I asked my friends to follow me in my journey of ministry, this popped up. The timing couldn’t even be more perfect ♥️ doing this all for The King of The Universe
I love the matter-of-fact way Zee’s like “Welp, guess I have to take this guy down now” when the possessed man charges him
So beautiful. Can't imagine how that feels!! Heeling the sick and blind. What bravery to continue Jesus's work and do as He asked. We all know it's the greatest story ever told, but it's the greatest Real Story ever told. It's brought so much more realism to those who lived it when He walked this earth, and now to us today who are blessed to have The Chosen to show us and to take on this calling from God Himself!! I believe in this production and what they are doing for the TRUTH. 🙏 ❤️🤗🎶🐟✨️✨️✨️✨️

The Chosen has changed my life because it has taken the stories & scriptures from the Bible and by putting them on the screen has brought a level of insight & understanding I didn’t previously have. It’s been a huge blessing in my life and we’re now going to start a Chosen BS at church and I can’t wait to share these episodes!!!

I think the black and white makes it look more real, more ancient. Like black and white photography, it highlights and emphasises details we might miss in a world of colour.

When I watched the first 2 series of The Chosen, I felt that the God the Father was pouring His Blessings on me with the Holy Spirit in the Name of Jesus Christ. God Bless all the casts and the whole team of The Chosen. May The Holy Trinity, One God be with you always. Amen. 🙏

@@kathleenjamieson1914 How is Jesus not God!? He did what He did and at Mount Tabor transfigured Himself and showed His Apostles as being "One with God!" Not multiple gods, but "One True God.

This scene was amazing! This really showed us the development of the disciples and one of my favourite scene from the chosen as it focuses on all the disciples even the ones who don’t have much screen time as the others. Especially my favourites like Nathanael and Thaddeus
If you use the subtitles for the show, the writer always use He and Him in the right places. It's so warming to see how respectful they have been to the Lord.

I can't help but be emotional especially with the scene when Little James was able to heal a paralytic. The "Why haven't you healed me" scene of Little James with Jesus before it has set a perfectly executed scene.

Thank you for posting this. It went by so fast while watching the episode, its nice to be able to go back & savor each & every thing. Glad its in black & white due to the gory animal sacrifice scene (& thank you for showing how dark those practices are) & glad you don't shy away from the deliverance scenes (which the modern church tries to pretend never happened then/never happens now).
Their missions were so successful....that their voices still resonate with us 2000 yrs later😂
When you have Faith in Jesus and your obedient to His Commandments and statues--You WILL DO as Jesus did while He was on earth!! Yes, and His apostles were able to do this--Praise the Lord ---HE is greatly to be praised!! ✝️

I had to rewind severals times. The new Phillip looks almost like Yoshi. Loved the clip and I am eagerly awaiting season 4. And Matthew's scene with Simon Z was perfect, his hesitation was spot on.
The particulars of this scene (who did what and who went where) are not spelled out. The rest IS in the Bible. Jesus commanded his disciples to go out 2 by 2 to heal the sick, cast out demons, and preach that the kingdom of God is at hand. It was awesome to see this exactly for the reason that I had never gone so far as to imagine what that would have looked like. Very moving!!! Thank you, Chosen!

The look on Little James and how Big James look at him, it's like the unspoken joy of them, not only bcs what Jesus told them is true (that God will use them to heal others), but also it gives them understanding that even in their weakness, God's strength is made perfect. The radest scene so far for me. Seeing the disciples go out and do God's work in a very real way to the amazement of themselves and those they helped with the miracles. This is what it means to follow God: to go out and have God do things through you that blow the minds of others, with or without a visible miracle or anything flashy at all, so that they are drawn to the one true king and savior. This scene physically displays this concept in a very real way and gave me some of the best goosebumps for my own walk with Christ.
