I was duped by misinformation. I was misled into thinking blockchain needed rehypothecation, allowing collateral to be pledged across multiple loans and accounts. I mistakenly believed EigenLayer was a good solution. Could you do a follow-up on why Eigen was poor execution of an already flawed concept?

Great analysis! Got a 10% profit in one week from your last video, OMG!!! Im thinking about investing in XAI25M, DOGE, and SOL. What’s your take on these? XAI25M seems like a strong choice, but I’d love your feedback.

I think there should be no law restricting speech. I prefer everything happens out in the open not behind closed doors. Just give people the tools to censor the things they don't want to listen to themselves. Violent speech is just additional evidence if the speech causes harm. If it's not in the open it still happens in a hidden way.

The explanation of the Brazil situation is very, very wrong. For one, Moraes has been cracking down on dissidents for years, including during the election. That is one of the reasons for people storming Brasilia, there were already journalists exiled at that point. Another key point, X had a representative, Moraes threatened to arrest her, so Musk let her go. And it goes much deeper.

You didn’t need to do so much work in the past. And let’s be honest, the Bell curve may be cruel, but it’s generally representative. At what point on that curve do most people give up on putting in work to understand things when you have so much else to focus on for your life? If even those to the extreme right of the curve don’t have time to think about the quality of the information they consume, how much easier is it for those increasingly to the left of the curve to just give in to what they believe and carry on with their day? Government is a problem, but doesn’t need to step in by censorship, but maybe by setting a “nutritional label” type labeling on minimum requirements for information platform’s algorithms and software. I do not have the answer, but it’s good to see a discussion that doesn’t just call any action “censorship”. This problem did not exist in the 1800s and we did not anticipate the abundance of information back then. We need to address these new developments.

1:26:00 Re: Winning the free speech battle.
Because people don't like too much chaos and DO like the sense that things in the world have meaning that can be generally relied upon (another form of stability against chaos) the way civilization wins the free speech battle (which is about how what is real, true, good, beautiful, and valuablee get defined and by who) is by letting people set up shields for themselves and those who are like them. The Amish have done this very well AND pretty much nobody messes with them. Why? Why does nobody mess with the Amish or rope the Amish into the "culture war," etc? The reason this doesn't happen for the Amish is because the Amish are sitting out of the culture war. They don't fight. Why do they not fight, because they have accepted and embraced the idea that their way and their values REALLY ARE NOT universal and that's REALLY IS okay. They have abandoned the fundamental notion that right and wrong, good and bad, etc. are universal. They know what's good for them and they are seriously fucking aggressive about maintaining their control over all of that inside their subculture, but don't cause problems for other people. They really do just want to be left alone....and so they are. Nobody's threatened by them, and so nobody cares about them. The Amish win, while the people around them also win.
Again, the free speech conflict is a front in the wider culture war. The culture war is happening because most people can't let go of the idea that their rights and wrongs and beeautifuls and uglies should apply across the board to everyone they see in the world, more or less. The culture war is horrific and toxic in the US. This is because people still believe there is, and ought to be a US.
David brought up the Moloch problem earlier. Pretty much everyone in crypto has heard about the Moloch issue and is aware that it comes from Scott Alexander's essay, "Meditations on Moloch." The Green Pill and other regen people care about this a lot, while I think most other crypto people are neutral.
Here's another Scott Alexander document that really ought to be a LOT more well known in crypto spaces than it is BECAUSE, it's obvious that if it was, it would be considered and seminal document both for the Network State movment: slatestarcodex.com/2014/06/07/archipelago-and-atomic-communitarianism/

Ryan's "social media drumbeat" opener went like this: ""Social Media misinformation is bad, AI is going to make it worse, the market has no way of solving this so we need misinformation laws to stop it, OR, we'll fracture into chaos and elect 'strong man' authoritarians and descend into madness."
We only make those laws or elect fascist jerk offs as long as we can't get it through our thick skulls that our own sacred cow ideas about the world and what is desirable and undesirable can be extended further than they really can be. Woke-ish SJW memes and value systems have power and clout but only so much and not more. Likewise, anti-woke reactions, be they religious in origin and anti-modern in origin or classical liberal in origin also have power and clout but only just so much and not more. That most people apparently can't accept this reality is why we fight rather than mind our businesses and go our separate ways. I don't know how many times in this piece we heard about "consensus" and governance or coordination problems that arise from these failures. These are failures because people haven't figured out yet, that that shit is over and done. No more four tv channels and a newspaper, etc. No more hegemonic control over the Overton Window, etc. It's done. All that's left now is to deal with it and move in peace into a world of thousands or even tens of thousands of little nations and city states, etc, vs. the 190 (or whatever number it is) big states the world has now.
Subcultures should become cultures should become states. Most of the free speech problems go away if this happens.

People wanna live in a world where there is only easy hard truths. But in reality many things are complex and internet has opened possibility for everyone to give their opinion. We should enjoy this journey of finding truths and not censor those that don't agree with current consensus. Even if it might be little more slow and painful than authoritarian way. Right way is not always the easy way.

38:00 If y'all want the AIs to be able to discern what's BS from what is true, they need to be able to judge things. That requires cognitive capacities far in excess of what they have now and may wind up making them self aware, self regarding, and, uh, well, people. If that happens, it's not necessarily "game over" for humanity like Yudkowsky thinks, but it's probably "game over" for humans as the dominant species on Earth. A lot of people would have grand mal freak-outs over this. I'd probably just laugh.
