Fine speech by Stoltenberg. But we are only slowly (even if steadily) waking up. The longer we take to wake fully up, to _STOP_ russia - in Ukraine, to give Ukraine what they need to stop and push russia back, the closer comes the need for ourselves to take on uniform and arms to fight russia, and stop authoritarianism, oppression and military conquest from ruling the world. Ukraine alone is doing the hard part. Give Ukraine all they need to complete the task. Ukraine Matters!
TheSecretary-General was getting very animated on the issue of this potential NATO long-term program that would bundle and programatize military support for Ukraine. I don't know if it is matter of firm conviction on his part or a concern for the ongoing function of the alliance, but he seemed almost combative on the issue.
Well, there seems to be a bit of reluctance to commit long-term support from a few members states that think that they can do dialogue with Russia or even think that Ukraine should "settle" for a negotiated peace. Unlike the leaders of these few states, the SG is convinced that Putin is not going to be negotiating for peace unless it is all on his terms - that means Ukraine back under Russia's boots. I hope he can persuade those short-sighted members to see Russia for what they always are - a hostile and aggressive rogue state that wants to bully and brow-beat smaller, neighbouring independent nations back into its sphere of influence by whatever necessary means.
I dont believe that 2% of GDP is enough for the NATO members. It must be even bigger - much bigger. But it takes time to adjust the economy to that, but it has to go fast..
Not all NATO countries use dollars or Euro. We those who spent the 2% is in our own countries GDP and it is much but yes You right. We need to push our armies and we will do so. Poland already spent 3.9% GDP on defense and Romania 2.4% last time i heard. West Europe needs to push harder in spending more.
Question time; if a neighboring country is attacked by an armed enemy which has threatened to attack YOU with nuclear weapons or by other armed attack, could that be considered a threat also against YOU which then qualifies invocation of Article 5?
Yeah, he is a bit more animated these days. His normal Nordic cool is slipping - he must be so frustrated with the pace of things in general and in particular, the promised delivery of advanced weaponry from various countries.
Una bella presa d'atto delle proprie responsabilità anche se ci son voluti due anni. Buoni propositi per buoni progetti! Discreta risposta a Putin.
Keep up the good work for all our security in Europe and Ukraine. Best wishes

Finally someone has the balls to tell Putler he won’t win and Ukraine WILL be in NATO🥰
100 Billion euro fund, a good start. So much more has to be done here. Less talk more action ...
Damn, so many flags now standing united in one big defense alliance. Still gives me the shivers.
32 countries in NATO and others might join. So far there are 948 million people from all NATO countries in the alliance.
