The Clone Wars animated series is literally the best of Star Wars, Google what order to watch the Clone Wars in as the first couple seasons aren't in order, but yes it's the best Star Wars. Rebels is great as well, these animated series are a must watch prior to getting into the live action shows, a lot of stuff in the live action shows come from these animated series.

100% . Clone Wars, Rebels, the Bad Batch are all excellent. The Mandalorian, Ahsoka are also great. Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Book of Boba Fett are a bit on the weaker side but I still enjoyed them. I would watch all of these before the Sequel Trilogy.

If you watch the Clone Wars show, I really recommend the chronological order over release, as some episode were aired out of order.
And the chronological list has this movie as the "3rd episode" of the show.
The list is even on the Star Wars site.

19:07 Rex wasn't weak-minded actually. He's play-acting, to save his life. He knew that if he acted too familiar towards Anakin, he'd know something was up

Rex wasn't affected by the mind trick, he tipped Anakin off by speaking out of character.
    "Contact Skywalker now."
"I will contact Skywalker now. Anakin, where are you?"

That's not Ewan McGregor voicing Obi-wan, that's James Arnold Taylor doing a dead-on impersonation of Ewan McGregor's Obi-wan. The guy is a legend at voice work... I've also seen him imitate David Spade and Michael J Foxes voice to the point that I can't even tell it isn't them.
Also Anakin is voiced by Matt Lanter

Order 66 hits way harder when you followed the Clone Wars series.
As for the "Ahsoka" series, you would have to watch "Star Wars Rebels" first. Dave Filoni created a whole universe with The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and the TV series on Disney +. And all of them form one huge story arc.

Yeah, The Clone Wars originally was targeted towards like 12-year olds, but as time passed, the series grew up with its audience. The stories became heavier, deeper, darker, but they still had some sillier episodes to keep the balance.

The scene with Anakin telling Ahsoka how ‘Nothing happens by accident’ is one of my favorite scenes of the series. Prior to this Obi-Wan advised Anakin to ‘teach her everything I taught you’ and yet the first piece of genuine wisdom he gives her is something he learned not from Obi-Wan or Yoda or any other Jedi at the temple but the late Qui-Gon Jinn. It goes to show how after all this time Qui-Gon means a great deal to Anakin so much he was his example to teach. I’m sure Anakin appreciates Obi-Wan’s lessons but he knows Ahsoka is just like him she’s reckless eager to prove herself and goes on instinct and Anakin knows the best way to deal with someone so willful is with a more nurturing approach like Qui-Gon did with him.

This the theatrically released trailer for the Clone Wars cartoon that ran on Cartoon Network for 5 seasons from 2008-2013, with a 6th short season on Netflix in 2014, and a final short 7th season on Disney+ in 2020.
Clone Wars as a show has some uneven quality, especially in its early seasons, but it matures and finishes as some of the strongest Star Wars content of all time.
The show has had several animated spinoffs on Disney XD and Disney+. Rebels, which went from 2014-2018, The Bad Batch, which just finished its final 3rd season this month, and the anthology series Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire, the latter of which just came out.

The clone wars show is the best of Star Wars by far, it explains so much about the main characters like Anakin, Ashoka, even Padme and the politics of the republic. You get to discover more about cool background characters, like some of the Jedi who get very little screen time. Most importantly, you get to understand the clones (who are really who the show is about) and their different personalities and feelings about the war, as well as why they carry out order 66. If you find a watch guide, you can see the hat order to watch the episodes in the correct order. I’ve really enjoyed these Star Wars reactions, please consider giving the show a chance as some of it is absolutely peak Star Wars!!

The series was pretty much George Lucas' passion project. He believed animation was going to be the way of the future and he wanted to tell the stories he had come up with but didn't have time in the movies to explore. He wanted to make sure it looked as good as it could for the time so he poured his own money into each episode, which cost roughly $1 million per episode.
I also think this series benefits from having George Lucas as the idea guy and the rest of the team figured out how to bring it to life. Lucas has great ideas and has a wonderful understanding of filmmaking in general. But he's not always the best when it comes to writing and directing his actors

I was not expecting this, but AWESOME!!!!!
The series is totally worth watching especially for people who want to learn more about this world and the characters. It fills in so much that I didn't think I needed to know, and is often credited with "saving" the prequels. So many people looked at those movies and despised them, and then watched the show and said "Holy smokes, this actually explains everything". Since people new to the franchise really like the prequels, I don't think they didn't have the building blocks there. Rather, I think the show brought what was good about the prequels to the forefront and used it to reframe the prequels in a way that redeemed them for a lot of people

Ahsoka is actually on the older side for becoming a padawan as she is 14 and the age range for becoming a padawan is between 12-14. She is of the Tagrutan Species. You should google the order to watch the Clone Wars episodes. Then, after season Seven, there is a direct follow-up series called Bad Batch, which has three seasons, and Rebels, which has four seasons. Then there’s Tales of the Jedi, which gives flashbacks for Ahsoka and Count Dooku, and then there are the live-action shows which will fit better contextually if you’ve viewed the animated content first.

All voices are different from the movies.
The Clone Wars 2D Animated Microseries had the chance to have the same dubbing voices in French than the movies ! That series also features absolutely OP Jedi fighting like one man armies (especially Mace Windu), OP except against General Grievous who was a real menace in that series. Don"t think it short because it was a 2D series, it has insane storytelling to it.
Ahsoka is a Togruta. The thing she as on her head is part of her species features just like the Twil'eks. Her Lekku are growing with age. However the golden thing is a decoration that ends in a tail to replace the pony tail of other Padawans since she has no hair. There are lots of Togrutans and Twil'eks slaves and servants, yes.
Assajj Ventress first premiered in the 2D microseries mentioned above. (Vol 1 and 2 and part of Vol 3 technically take place before most of the CGI The Clone Wars series) Her introduction is utterly badass as well as a certain duel on a planet you would perhaps recognize, screenplay, ambiant... super cool. You should watch those before the CGI series to be honest but keep in mind that the 2D Microseries is not cannon anymore since the 3D one came out. Did I mention that Ventress is from the same planet as Darth Maul, it's a cousin species of the Zabrak but without horns.
Once and for all, Anakin is Codependant... the thing you don't want from a Jedi !!!
Less violent... wait until later seasons, it can get pretty dark.

Youngling it’s just a term for just being young. She’s just a kid at the start of the war she’s 14 by the time you see who is the adult she’s in her 30s. Let’s do the math here 14 now three years till the war ends the 19 years until episode four episode six is some three years after that take on five more when we see her in live action, give or take six months.

While not the best of the feature films, it does have its moments. The animation is great, and it only gets better once you get to the later seasons.

Asking to watch 7 seasons of Clone Wars and 4 Season's of Rebels (and after that there's There's three Season's of Bad Patch) is much... But you can watch Essential episodes. There's list of Essential episodes's that will introduce characters you will see if you proceed Watching live action Tv series: Mandalorian, Book of Bobba Fet and Ahsoka. It helps immensely since those series do drop characters assuming you have watched animated series (mostly Clone Wars and Rebels) and oh yes: Welcome what fans call: Filoni-verse.

The Clone Wars tv series is ok. The first few seasons have episodes that are hit or miss but they all provide good background information. Interestingly the 7th and final season came out almost 6 years after the 6th season and all of it is excellent plus you can totally tell how much animation improved in that 6 year gap. If there is one animated series I can't recommend enough it's Star Wars Rebels which is 4 seasons and the last 2 are incredible and again brings up background information that comes up in the live action shows such as "Ahsoka".

The voice actor for Obi-Wan, believe it or not, is not the same person. They sound identical though.
If you think the animation is good now, just wait until S7 of TCW. 😆
"This is where the fun begins". 😂😂
There's many more callbacks to quotes where that came from.
14:28 Not many people would notice, but Anakin's lightsaber made the Sith ignition sound and not the traditional good side ignition sounds. One thing this show does is change the lightsaber sound effects to match what the wielder is feeling, and I love that. Anakin was going to go aggressive in that sight against those droids, so his lightsaber accounted for that change in personality.
The out of context thing, trying to frame the Jedi, is quite literally what mainstream media/news is doing in the real world, lol.
Rex wasn't actually mind controlled. The clones I think are actually very strong minded, and when he called General Skywalker "Anakin", Anakin knew something was wrong, and Rex knew Anakin would know something's wrong. Rex never calls Anakin by his first name.
One thing I've come to learn, animation does not mean kids. Only thing I'll say is TCW gets very...mature and adult-level.
"A lot less violent"...take those words right back. 😅
The order to watch all the TV shows is TCW, Tales of the Jedi, either The bad Batch or Rebels next, then The Mandalorian S1 and S2, then The Book of Boba Fett before The Mandalorian S3, then The Mandalorian S3, then Ahsoka.

You have to watch The Clone Wars first before you watch the rest of the movies, and life action Disney series. It will be a mistake if you don't. Star Wars Rebels as well, right after Clone Wars.

The animation for the movie and the first 2 seasons is a bit rough due to budgetary constraints. George Lucas had to underwrite the shows' costs whenever Lucasfilm Animation ran low.

Emphasizing what others have said, make sure that if you watch the show, you watch it in chronological order, not release order.

The pilot movie was four episodes of the cartoon stitched together and rushed out for a theatrical release by George, hence the pretty terrible animation. It's not the most glamorous opening to a show, but it has its charm.

There is really no need to watch this show in strict chronological order. Lots of shows and comic books have time jumps. It’s not THAT confusing. Sometimes people watching in chronological order, end up getting confused and missing an episode or two, or watching them out of order anyway. When the show first aired, we weren’t confused and we still liked the show.

@@willfanofmanyii3751 Sure I was. And I’m sure there were some not so bright people who were confused. But it wasn’t enough to keep us from watching it or from thinking it was still a great show. Most of us have the mental capacity to grasp these aspects of fiction. It was a hit show while it was on, despite the time jumps.

I'd say the movies you have left can be watched in any order, but for the series you should watch them mostly in release order, because the connections and references between them are more satisfying that way, Andor is the only one that is mostly stand-alone (better to watch it after Rogue One, though), but for the other major series, I'd do: The Clone Wars -> Rebels -> The Mandalorian S1 & 2 -> Book of Boba Fett -> The Mandalorian Season 3 - > The Bad Batch* -> Obi-Wan Kenobi* -> Ahsoka. The Bad Batch and Obi-Wan Kenobi can be watched at any point after Rebels, as they don't contain any big references to the (other) live-action series. The Short series Tales of the Jedi is best watched after The Clone Wars whereas Tales of the Empire is best watched after Ahsoka. The Clone Wars is an anthology series and jumps all over the timeline, it makes more sense to watch its episodes in chronological order rather than realease order, and you should probably rewatch The Clone Wars movie together with Season 1 of the Clone Wars series, as the movie happens between episodes of the first season.
And if you enjoyed this movie, and you think this animation looks good, you'll be blown away by the animation of the later seasons of The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch. My opinions: The Clone Wars is rightfully regarded as top Star Wars, but it's also quite inconsistent: some episodes are truly great, whereas some are more mediocre (specially in the first few seasons). Rebels is more consistent, it doesn't have the same highs and lows as The Clone Wars, but it is consistenly very good. The Bad Batch is also great and pretty consistent. Andor is just brilliant in every aspect. The Mandalorian is smaller in scope, but also quite great. Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka are good but not great. Obi-Wan is the only one of the series I think was a bit weak. The sequel trilogy and Solo are meh, a bit weak, whereas Rogue One is very, very good. That's just my opinion, granted, some people might disaggree.
