I'm thinking of doing my gauntlets this way aswell but instead of shaping them on pipes i think im going to make 2 pieces of templates of wood and plaster that i can shape the sintra over.
is that sintra? if so, you should be wearing a respirator and be in a well ventilated area. Heating/burning sintra (and cutting with a dremmel tool) release carcinogenic vapors and particles. Be careful brother.
The chemicals from heating sintra us close to same as hexavalent chromium with you being a welder im sure you have heard of this please wear a mask when heating sintra

This was a great video, I was worried about how complex it would be to make a set of gauntlets but you broke it down into easily digestible parts.

I've wanted to build a costume for years. I'm a union pipe welder but don't have access to brakes.this material looks alot easier ..for now.
