  • Gala Venue transformation system at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida.
Spencer Tong (VP Operations, Dr. Phillips Center), Scott Crossfield (Design Director, Theatre Projects), Robert Heimbach (VP Business Development, Gala Systems), Vincent Mathot (automation Designer, Gala Systems) and Alin Ionele (Account Manager, Siemens Canada) take a deeper look into the vision that went behind the creation of this flexible multipurpose hall and the technology that brought it to life. Pushing the boundaries of innovation in performance spaces, Steinmetz Hall can transform itself to optimally showcase a wide range of performances, including opera, ballet, modern rock and symphonic music.
Thanks to its 524 convertible seats, installed in 2020, the Steinmetz Hall can completely change its function in less than 10 minutes. This versatility is more than welcome as the multipurpose venue is the new home of the Orlando Ballet, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and Opera Orlando.
