  • In this video, we explore two important philosophies from ancient India-Nyay and Vaisheshika. These philosophies are old but still help us understand the world today. They teach us how to think better and make smart decisions in life.
Nyay is all about using logic and reasoning. It teaches us to ask questions and find the truth by thinking carefully. Nyay was created by Rishi Gautama, and it focuses on four ways to gain knowledge. These ways are called Pramanas. The first way is Pratyaksha, which means seeing things for ourselves. The second way is Anumana, which is guessing or making inferences based on what we already know. The third way is Upamana, where we compare things to understand them better. The last way is Shabda, where we trust what wise people say.
On the other hand, Vaisheshika, founded by Rishi Kanada, is all about understanding what the world is made of. It tells us that the world is made up of small parts called atoms or Anu. Vaisheshika helps us understand how these small parts come together to form everything around us, like the earth, water, and air. It also teaches us how to organize or classify everything we see into categories like substance (Dravya), quality (Guna), and action (Karma).
Both Nyay and Vaisheshika work together to give us a complete understanding of the world. While Nyay helps us think logically, Vaisheshika helps us understand the basic elements that make up everything. Together, these philosophies give us a balanced way of thinking and understanding life.
In our everyday lives, Nyay and Vaisheshika can still be useful. Nyay helps us make better decisions by thinking logically. For example, when we face a problem, we can use reasoning to find the best solution. Vaisheshika helps us see the world in a clear and organized way. By understanding how things are made up and how they work, we can solve problems more easily.
Even though these philosophies are very old, they have a lot in common with modern science. Nyay’s way of using logic is similar to how scientists use experiments to find the truth. Vaisheshika’s idea that everything is made of atoms is similar to today’s atomic theory.
Join us in this video to learn more about how these ancient philosophies can help you think better and understand the world in a more logical way. Nyay and Vaisheshika show us that clear thinking and understanding the world around us can make life easier and better.
