So our brand new LG dishwasher blew out its control board after 15 months. 3 months out of warranty. LG's helpful response? "We'll be happy to connect you with a local repair guy". Cost to repair? $600! Bought a new GE dishwasher down at Home Depot instead for the same price. This is the one time I wish I'd bought an extended warranty. This was a nice DW, very quiet and seemed to handle our dirty dishes with no problem, but this experience has really soured me on the LG product line.
yep. after nearly 2 & half years... the control panel does not work. expensive repair. would never buy any LG product ever again... Yeah... looks awesome, if you want a non working dishwasher. next time I will just purchase the cheapest tall tub from Frigidaire with a Dial operation. LG... your dishwasher is a total Joke.. and it is not funny. 799 US Dollars... lasts maybe 2 to 3 years. Zero Value.
Thank you! Recently started using this model in a new to me home. Was frustrated. After watching your video found out the bottom rack was inserted backwards making it difficult to pull the rack in and out. I’ll check out a few more features now.
I have the same one, but it makes buzzing sound when washing, LG is trying to say that is normal? cleans very well, I would like to hear how it sounds running compared to mine, Thanks.
I have it operating in my video. Mine has no buzzing. It is so quiet that sometimes I don't know if it's running or not. Mine does have an odor when running though... sort of smells like burning electrical but I'm thinking it's the "new car smell." I do plan to contact LG soon though just to be sure there isn't an issue.
I've found drying pretty good....above 95%....once the program ends, wait for 3-5 mins & then open the door slightly for around 5-10mins to let the steam slowly escape & then open fully
You are actually supposed to keep the door closed for a longer period of time which allows the accumulated heat to evaporate excess water after the cycle has completed.
HI, I AM FROM India. I have LG dishwasher though it's not the exact same model...but quite similar . Sometimes I get white RESIDUE all over the machine and utensils too. it's very irritating. I regularly fill my salt and rinse aid chamber ...and the water of our area is soft too...(though most of the time my machine cleanses the Indian oil and spices very well.)
@@mayak2676 YEAH, i did it..but it repeating the same problems few times and then again it get rectified by itself...can't understand the reason behind this.
Are dishwasher paks ok to use in this machine? I read the manual and they warned that some paks might get stuck in the dispenser due to size, which worries me since that’s all we use.
If you have kids, go with the top control models. No buttons to see and even when open, a kid can’t accidentally start the dishwasher unless he hits start AND closes the door within 4 seconds.
Yes we still have it. It's in a condo undergoing renovation and isn't being used for the time being. While we were using it we liked it but during that time the smell continued.
It does not happen with my LG dishwasher...though it is the first model ...it restarts from where it left...just don't touch the power button, that's it.
@@AmbujaSenapati Sadly the newest model has this problem & they have no solution for it as of now. Many customers have returned their LG dishwasher due to this reason....i have watched such customers on RUclips
Just bought this dishwasher yesterday after reading many great reviews. Is the 10 yr warranty direct drive logo in upper right corner supposed to be removed?
I read reviews where some people removed it but I kept mine on. This dishwasher works very, very well. Just clean the round filter screen after every wash and use the machine clean cycle after 30 washes. The Express wash can clean moderately dirty dishes in a 30 minute cycle. But I use the Auto cycle selection.
I got this model in black stainless a little less than 2 months ago. I am concerned that in addition to it always being wet, I feel warm air and sometimes a smell when I open the door; even 2 days after use. I'm afraid it could be a breeding ground for mold. Have you had that experience?
@@michaelerbreviews Thanks for your reply. I use a rinsing agent, but it is not the Finish brand. It stays wet even after the dishes sit over night with the door never opened. Using the dry cycle helped, but still not completely dry. I'm the dish loader and my dad is the unloader. He hates it! He keeps saying I should reinstall the one that we moved to the basement. I'll try switching to Finish to see if that helps.
@@cassdav3255 High Temp and Extra Dry settings are available and with Finish, we seldom have issues now. I know how frustrating it is to pick up a coffee cup and have a tablespoon of water come flying off the bottom.
Your dishwasher is probably not level when it was installed. There is an adjusting screw that adjusts the back leg to level the dishwasher under you countertop. Look at the owners manual.
No. There is a "control lock" but that only prevents settings from being changed during the cycle. This is from the user guide: Q: What is Control Lock and how is it activated? A: Control Lock is a feature that prevents the controls from being changed during the cycle. It does not prevent the door from being opened or the unit from being powered off. To activate or deactivate, press and hold Half Load and Energy Saver simultaneously for three seconds.
A "water Hammer Aresstor" will fix that. $20 on Amazon. You can get them in "Compression Tee" version so all you do is cut the plastic water line, assenble with a pair of small wrenches. Be sure to get the right size, cut the pipe properly, don't over tighten and check connection over several hours to be sure its not leaking. Here is a link but I'm hot saying for sure this will fit your water line. www.amazon.com/EFIELD-MH-231-2-FM-Hammer-Arrestor-Female/dp/B08KGLG7YM/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=dishwasher+water+hammer+arrestor&qid=1626041903&sr=8-3
How do you like the condense drying system in this compared to a heating element? Most newer dishwashers are now converting to the condense drying system, but I’m worried the dishes might come out wet without the heating element?
I have used both Bosch and LG dishwashers, both with condense dry cycles. While both do a good job, I think the LG does a better dry with the "Night Dry" cycle, which occasionally blows regular air into the dishwasher after the cycle is finished. Helps remove the humidity and facilitate better drying.
I just purchased this LG for my mom after doing some research. I think it's going to be good. (I love my LG washer, dryer & fridge) I have a Bosch, no heating element either. Everything comes out completely dry except some of the plastic. The water gets so hot that the dishes dry quickly. I'm glad there's no heating element...no more burned up plasticware! (I also use Finish and my Bosch has a built in water softener) I expect the LG will do a good job. Got the 5 year extended warranty too.
Did you have issues with dishes not drying? We just bought ours ... slightly different model but pretty much the same. We have the handle in the front but all else seems to be the same. We do use alot of plasticware: cups, plates, tupperware, etc. Could that be the problem? TIA :-)
Could be part of the problem. Also you must let the drying take place over the course of several hours after it has completed running. It uses the residual heat inside to complete the drying process. Plastic of course does not retain heat in the same way as glass thus may be part of the issue you are having.
Hey Michael, we just recently moved into a house that has this same exact dishwasher and we have no idea how to use it or how to even start it because we have never had a smart dishwasher before. If there is any way to help me out with that, that would be great. Hopefully you will be able to. And I also have dishwasher pods that I use and don't know where those go either
have you noticed the fan will run for hours after the wash cycle displays END? LG rep said you have to either push power button or open and shut door to stop fan from running. My only complaint since it uses more electric.
That is Night Dry mode. Most cycles it automatically enables it. You can disable that by press and holding Extra Dry for 3 seconds. If your rinse aid dispenser is empty, it will also automatically enable it to compensate.
Glad you're happy with it, we're not so lucky. Lower rack replaced under warranty for rust. After the one year warranty was up the upper rack started to rust and it's almost done at this point. Owned it for 2.5 years. Rack replacement is over $200 CAD. We paid about $600 CAD for the whole machine. What good is a ten year motor warranty when a bad rack will render it useless?
