Great video, I used Alhambra 1c HT for quite a while but lately I've decided to upgrade it with an Alhambra 5p or 7p. Beatufil sounds and nicely recorded.

That could be a nice upgrade, in my case I sold the 7c and kept the 1c.. the 7c was better in many ways (timbre, wood, quality of the sound), but the sound wasn't very open (perhaps it needed more time being played) and the action a little bit high (and I didn't want to spend for a good luthier).. I sold it to monetize, for more than I payed it new (long story).
But every instrument is different, acoustic instruments above all..

First of all I congratulate you because you are very good at playing the guitar, and the guitarist is the most important thing. Not the guitar.
About the comparison, I also have these two guitars and I must say that the 1C has more echo especially in the third string, but I confirm that the 7C is more closed in terms of sound. However, the playability of the neck is better in the 7C, it is more curved, and even if the action is higher for this reason, it returns greater attack in the notes. However, I would say that considering the price, the 1C actually does a better job.

Wow the tones are night and day. Strong warm bass on the 1C and fairly clear highs, clear mids with more balanced low/high on the 7C. IDK man I think the 1C has the edge with the good low end and the low price haha. Does the Ebony fretboard feel significantly better to you?

Very accurate feedback here, I very much agree!
The 7c clearly had a more refined sound range and feeling, but at the same time the sound was boxy, while the 1c had that nice bottom end and it was more open (despite it feels a bit like a toy)
The 7c might have needed more time to "open" the sound, but I sold it.
The 1c had a lower action (I worked on it in a really rough way) while the 7c arrived with a mid-high action and I didn't work on it because I already knew I would have sold it (I bought it new for a great price and sold it "like new" for more than I payed for it, it's a long story), so I didn't actually played it a lot, because I have tendon issues.
So to answer your question the ebony fretboard was better, and the guitar in general might be a good upgrade from the 1c, but they both are entry level, it depends on what you have to do with the guitar and how much money you can spend.
I talked a lot and probably didn't solve your doubts, sorry 😂

I’m currently considering buying the 7/8 size 1C HT model and your comment about it feeling a bit like a toy is a bit worrying . Would you mind giving some additional information as in what way it feels like a toy. Thank you.

Hi Frank, assuming that we should always play an instrument a few hours before buying it (but of course this is getting harder with the years and all the occasions that one can find online), I was just referring to the fact that at this price point all the instruments are entry level, especially if you are a "seasoned" musician.
The 1c ( that I kept against the 7c that I sold ) is a good instrument for studying and enjoying a nylon acoustic guitar without too much pretension, they are solid instruments for the price, well built. The woods and the materials are not top notch of course, giving a little bit of the "toyish" feeling I was talking about.
But I'm sure you're gonna enjoy the 7/8 as much as I enjoy my 1c.
      Ciao Frank, buona musica!

@@FabioGrando Hi Fabio and thanks for your response. Okay, I see what you mean and whilst it would be fantastic to buy a more up market guitar, I struggle to justify the cost, which is the reason for looking at entry level guitars with the hope of finding something that I’ll be satisfied with.
This problem is made even worse when trying to buy small scale guitars, which predominantly appear to be aimed at beginners, rather than experienced players who for one reason or another need a smaller guitar - as I do, since I now find holding my full size uncomfortable.
At the moment, as far as I can see, there is nothing to bridge that gap??.
Grazie ancora per il vostro aiuto.
