Avocado good. Tree good. Avocado tree very good.
I’m a little jealous of the amount of avocados you probably eat. Yum.
This time of year at least one a day, ha!
and also mangos in the summer too!
Why the hell is everyone that talks about avocados so god damn wholesome and adorable😭🥺💕💗🥺

I have A 15 year old producing Bacon Avocado tree and just planted another. I love avocados so much and started sharing them with friends so now I want to grow more. One day a lucky person will buy my house and get to enjoy those big beauties. ❤️ 🥑
yum
Thank you
I just adopted a baby avocado tree and your video is a blessing to a newbie like me! 😊 What I meant by adopted is this cafe I dined in had a brilliant nature campaign that when you purchase their avocado smoothie, youll get to take one seedling. And suddenly today Im an avocado’s parent haha.
Alice, that's great! Good luck with the seedling.
That is fabulous! Where?

Thanks for making this world a better place!! Really enjoyed the video!
Planted my avocado from seed 7 years ago. No fruit. What to do. Its 15 feet tall

At what age of the avocado tree should you start grafting ???
Hi my name is Gus how long does it take for an avocado seed to grow to a tree that produces fruit
@@gustavobetancourt3634 7 to 15 years
I was eating an avocado one day, I accidentally dropped the seed in my back yard and was lazy and did not pick it up, 2 months later I realized something was growing and did my research and it was an avocado tree.
lol, really?
@Comment Police it’s possible though
Did it fruit
i composted an avocado and now i have an avocado tree as well
I have over eighty saplings growing from composting but try to find out if they will fruit
BEST avocado tree video EVER! Thank you!
you just made my day
That is one passionate and happy avocado farmer! This is such a "feel happy video", thank you!
My avocado tree just started blooming flowers after three years planted in our front yard. We are very excited to see some fruit soon!!! Greetings from Puerto Rico! 🇵🇷
Hi Annette, I'm so glad to hear you're getting flowers. Ours are just starting to flower now too. it's a great time of year isn't it?
I love farmers and gardeners!! You all have been amazing and taught me so much and it’s now feeding my family because we took your knowledge and grew out family garden!! You’re the Pooh!!
Yes! I found someone who grew and actually displayed an avocado. You sir are my hero
yeah, they all show the seed going in the water but they never show the fruit!
A cop calling his boss after investigating in a house of presumed criminal - “ He can’t be a bad guy; he is growing avocados in his backyard”
Do you grow avocados in your backyard?
That is a HUGE avocado!
He is actually a pygmy
All produce is much bigger ripe and fresh off the plants.
Last year I had a Haas avocado seed sprout in my compost area in the backyard. Picked it out in the fall and potted it up then moved it indoors to the basement under LEDS. Spring came around then moved it outdoors. It's now 4 ft. tall and growing. Rescued another seed from compost and plan to do the same. I'm located in Connecticut.
That's fantastic! Please check back in periodically and keep us posted on it's progress.
@@SleepyLizard You got it, will do 👍
Update: the second avocado sprouted in late 2021. I potted it up and it's growing strong. Once it warms up it will be outdoors.
I have 2 avocados growing in pots on my balcony. 1 I grew from a seed using the water method. 1 I rescued from the compost. Such an exciting find! I thought I damaged it cuz I was tossing the compost with a pitchfork. But it's fine and growing well now. Knock on wood.
@@janemack8852 Try grafting onto your seedling with a mature 🥑 branch! Seed grown tree will take forever to fruit .
Thank you for this! Im growing my first avacado tree from seed in soil. I see a shoot about an inch tall now. Thank you!!!

Lori, thank you for the idea. I tried a little animation in this vid: ruclips.net/video/tGToJYUkWMU/видео.html
I totally agree!
this video gave me the good kind of feelings
thank you for the feedback.
For huge avocado trees in a container: Mix your soil with mycorrhizae (from Jake Mace) or locally we use mushroom compost. A small mushroom covers my containers a couple times a year and don't know which one it is but they have a symbiotic relationship with the tree roots. I have a 12' tree growing in 18" dia, 12" deep wicking bucket. Still growing up after 4 years.
huh, that's interesting.
@@SleepyLizard if you try using it wear gloves during the mixing process. I bite my nails and mixed it without gloves and was sick for a week....but my trees love it
I'd live to see a picture if your setup
@@ksp1154 i could email you...
Its so good to try to make this world peaceful. Thanks.
Man, as an avocado picker in New Zealand. I can say for sure your trees and orchards are absolutely stunning. Picking those would be an absolute breeze in comparison too the mazes we pick over here in giant slopes haha.
Morky, I've not seen what y'all have in New Zealand but I've seen groves on very steep and windy slopes in Portugal and it amazes me.
@@SleepyLizard that is so interesting (I have a tonne of monsteria too) and hopeful. The only place with full sun at my place in my home garden is on a windy cliff top spot. Great grafting info.
Bless you for making this video. Your teaching style is uplifting and positive without talking down to your audience. And SOOOO needed for everyone who's even sprouted a seed in their kitchen window.
thanks for the encouraging words.
I have grown like 10 from seed but have learn much since seeing your videos and explanation and process for fruit. Mine are like one and two years. Live on zone 7A but brought under the porch for proteccion last winter. They are in pots.

I just love this video. I’ve watched it 3 times now! Every time my tree gets to its next phase I come back and watch it again. :-) Thank you!
Lynn, that’s great! Please keep coming back and give us updates on your tree.
I love them too! I throw the seeds out my kitchen door into the creeping Jenny patch and the seeds take root and grow in there. I now have 12 saplings in pots.
they really want to grow don't they?
That is something I never looked at as canopy same as the roots. Awesome. You live in a warm place for sure. Take care & Stay safe. Thanks for sharing eh :))
One of the best videos I’ve ever watched
Wow. Thank you
Great video! I was just out in my yard nursing my two Avocado trees. Thanks for the motivation.
great way to spend your afternoon (or morning depending on where you're from I guess)
We had an avocado grove 1400 trees up in the Temecula Hills West / De Luz. We sold it in 2013 and I missed eating my own fresh avocado. So I bought at least 10 avocado trees in the last 7 years. Since I live in Temecula Wine Country, (it is on the fringe of the desert, Aguanga, Anza etc). The weather here is 20 degrees hotter than the West Hills. SO, ALL MY AVOCADO TREES that I bought in the pots, and tried to grow DIED on me. It was too HOT in the summer and too COLD in the winter. Now I know to put them in the ground AS SOON AS I GET THEM in the pot. Thank you, I learned how to do it better now.. YUM YUM!! Hopefully LOL
Jieranai, you might consider trying different varieties of avocado, certain varieties can tolerate high/low temps better than others.
Dude thank you so much.... my favorite fruit I hate to buy.... understanding the life of the tree helps so much 👍
I absolutely love growing my own vegetables.

Thank you for the compliment. We've got all kinds of fruits and add new ones whenever we create the space.
Try cutting the top and bottom of the seed across so both ends have a flat and put it straight in soil, I have found that it greatly increases germination rate and the speed that it throws a root. I have root coming through within about a week to two weeks.
This is the best video about the life cycle of an avocado. Thank you! 🥑😁👍
thank you
Thank you. I have a lucky avocado tree from an avocado pit that I threw in my compost pile. End of summer, voila!

Having had no prior interest at all in avocados-- I barely eat them, let alone want to grow them-- I now find myself binging this guy's channel and I want him to teach me everything else I'll ever need to know in life.
Aaron, wow, what a great way to start my day reading this comment. Thank you. I appreciate your kind words.

Aaron I eat avocadoes 1-2x a week in a California sandwich and homemade guacamole
@@a18luv24 I really should eat more of them. Healthy stuff and I actually do like them a lot. Just hard to find a good 🥑 here in PA sometimes
@Aaron Welch Im in Michigan been eating them since I was a teen (I'm 45) never had a problem getting good ones, just bought 2 batches of them (Im diabetic just found out my cholestetol top high--of course from too many eggs!!) So bought 2 batches of avocados waiting for them to ripen thinking can make my California sandwich (English muffin, mayo, swiss, avocado slice+tomato on top) and guacamole, they got moldy (never saw before) so had throw away 5 checked my separate batch same thing...weird never saw avocadoes get moldy
😁 I got a hold of a very large avocado, just like his, put it straight into soil. It’s been four years in a pot, lots of TLC, avoiding frost, avoiding direct heat mid summer, repotting amending soil and my tree is beautiful.
@Marialuisa did you plant the whole avocado or just the seed?
Shelly Larue Hello, I took the pit and let it dry for a day then planted it in a pot of soil. I’ve also tried the water tooth pick method, both work but not always successful.
@@marialuisa5302 Thanks so much for your reply! Im taking notes on all your tips. Sounds like you know what you're talking about as far as growing in a pot. Thats what I plan to do as well.

Gosh I don't know about the Mojave Desert. It sounds like somewhere that you'd need a lot of irrigation. Thanks for the compliment on the property. This time of year is so lush.
