For huge avocado trees in a container: Mix your soil with mycorrhizae (from Jake Mace) or locally we use mushroom compost. A small mushroom covers my containers a couple times a year and don't know which one it is but they have a symbiotic relationship with the tree roots. We had an avocado grove 1400 trees up in the Temecula Hills West / De Luz. We sold it in 2013 and I missed eating my own fresh avocado. So I bought at least 10 avocado trees in the last 7 years. Since I live in Temecula Wine Country, (it is on the fringe of the desert, Aguanga, Anza etc). The weather here is 20 degrees hotter than the West Hills. SO, ALL MY AVOCADO TREES that I bought in the pots, and tried to grow DIED on me. It was too HOT in the summer and too COLD in the winter. Gosh I don't know about the Mojave Desert. It sounds like somewhere that you'd need a lot of irrigation. Thanks for the compliment on the property. This time of year is so lush.

Awesome avocado information! We have a few seeds that are sprouting now. Sure would be something to have an avocado grove like this. Those fruits are ginormous. Hope you are having a spectacular day ♡

I have that avocado tree on some new property I purchased. It gives 2 pound avocados and I will be grafting it and air cloning it along with growing it from seed. I understand that avocado is licensed to one guy in Australia and sells there for 12 to 18 dollars each.

My avocado is in a pot. I like to prune it and it grows fuller with more branches, I'm planing to keep mine around 4 to 5 ft tall and will eventually make it into a 4 ft bonsai.

I grow avocados using the toothpick method. One thing that i have problems is that the one that i have planted isn't fruiting. It's been 6 years or so but no fruit yet. and also it has been planted with just few centimeteres away from mango and kasmir fruit tree. The avocado hasn't been grafted.

Yared, looks like you're just about in the window where the tree will flower and fruit. It usually takes 7-10 years.
