    its good they added a audible warning on the i6x for signal loss. i have an i6 and its doesn't do anything when signal gets low.

      I was recently fling at a college and a security guard started knocking on my window. I was watching him through my googles. Eventually he went back to his vehicle to wait on me to finish. I said, "Let me guess you want me to leave," he said. Yes.

    I have made it to 3.88 km at 120 meters, but you need to see the signal strength in the goggles as getting the radio aligned correctly is important to achieving that range.
    I believe I could get further if I could use the 100 m height per 1 km distance rule.

    If you put a GPS on your quad you can display speed, distance etc on the OSD and setup GPS recovery (will fly your Quad back to you) in Betaflight 10.4. Cost about $15 for BN-220 GPS module weighs about 5 grams, plenty of info on the web how to set it up. That's a whole lot more distance than I get around home but I have a lot of houses around with WIFI, I can get about 400M maximum.

      THanks Gary, I've recently tried installing these twice. First one got lost when I had a major crash and destroyed my wizard. The second one just doesn't work. When it did work it was awesome.

      @@tomam258 but is kinda a dumb thing to comment on a video about a range test. What good is a range test with tons of variables? He's just trying to show in a near perfect RF environment what range you can get. If he tests it around a bunch of trees and buildings then it's basically useless info since every layout is different that's made up of trees, buildings, and incoming 2.4ghz signals like wifi within those buildings. This is just showing a mostly controlled setup and the possible range.

    I have that model also. Fly 90mm jet with it. I did add a 10db dual antenna mod just in case I want to fly a drone. Of course never need to go that far with a plane unless I use a video system like that. But for 50$ it’s a nice transmitter, honestly except for a little looseness in the gimbles which can be tightened by opening up unit in quite impressed. Only thing is it could use a couple more switches for the 10channel.

    • @gattmolson
      @gattmolson  4 года назад

      Everyone on the internet said to drop it and switch to Frsky as soon as possible, but in my opinion this worked great. The Taranis is built way better and feels a bit better in my hands but that's it.

    Thanks for the video. I have this TX but haven't tried it much past a few hundred yards maybe. This gives me a little more confidence in it. By the way, what receiver are you using? In other videos I have seen that the type of batteries makes a huge difference as well.

    • @gattmolson
      @gattmolson  5 лет назад +3

      I was using the flysky ia6b. Couple important things I was in an area with almost zero 2.4ghz interference and nothing to hinder the signal. 500 meters is more the normal for me. I also had the antennas mounted at 90 degrees above the frame. I've found that antenna orientation makes a big difference.

    • @mihavuk
      @mihavuk 5 лет назад +4

      Fs ia6b is THE BEST Flysky receiver. From range perspective it outperforms many 10x more expensive radio systems. The rest of Flysky or Flysky compatible receivers are not as reliable or good. This is my experience with FSi6.
