@sonicslaughter Well put, like Malmsteen's descending pedal tone runs he throws in every song, everyone has their signature licks This song reminds me a lot of Jason Becker! Just in the phrasing and whammy usage and a bunch of other little details, it's awesome!
0:32 -why do I hear that diminished 7th/chromatic lick in all his songs. Besides this song, it's in the solos of Shouting Fire at a Funeral, Enemies of Reality, and The River Dragon Has Come, all with similar patterns.
@Unknownbmxr True, A lot of guitarists actually idolize Paul's picking, Guthrie, Jeff, Rusty Cooley, etc. If there is one thing that Paul does better than everyone else, it is alternate picking. So good ear bro. , or girl Whatever you are haha.
@HeavyMetalVagabond I agree, even with some repetition within his material, I still greatly enjoy his playing. Also, maybe he's smart for repeating licks; great performers and artists always have signature things for which their fans and critics alike remember them.
@sonicslaughter He said in an interview he always seems to go back to diminished stuff because he just likes the sound. So im pretty sure it's just habit of playing things hes' used to playing.
@TheWhocares233 At least it's not just me hearing it then. I wonder if he does it on purpose to catch the attention of his fans who have listened to his past songs with Nevermore, or maybe it's just so familiar to him that he ends up playing it whenever he goes to solo.
j'y était est c'était sublissime , je sais pas trop s'il me donne envie d'arréter ou de continué la gratte , il jou avec une aisance c'est abuzé ^^ trop sympa jeff au passage !!
my favourite track, I waited for a while to watch him play this live.. it's simply EPIC!!!
This song is heaven
Always with the arguments over who is better... Music is an art not a pissing contest
Reminds me of the water level on Super Mario 64. :D

This is a splendid piece of music... and an excellent performance of it. Kudos to Jeff.

Superb playing!! He's getting around to doing his other tracks live now- Can't wait for another solo album; Loomis and his signature Schecter rule!!
2:16 - 2:34 omfg -- inhumanly clean :s

Fucking insanity.

Same lick is in the middle of the arpeggio sequence of Jato Unit too, and I'm sure I've heard it in his new album... Oh well, still sounds cool
Toca pra caralho!!!!

i had to dislike this video just so i could like it a 2nd time

@sonicslaughter you're right. What about the lick at 2:18, he always plays that. Still, what an immense player
@Tordah90 Unfortunately, there's no tab for sacristy.
I wrote this such a long time man. Now I can play a lot of stuff from Zero Order Phase :D Including this song :)
=( perfect
@Tordah90 There's no tab for sacristy.
Epic
2:18 so cleaaaaan
@liveMDBrules maybe aside from everything becker or friedman ever played.
the part at 2:55 is just powerfully epically badass!!!!
2:06 is fucking amazing.
I hope im not the only one that thought of final fantasy during the piano intro..
@sonicslaughter It's kind of like Buckethead and his paul gilbert lick. He kind of overuses it.
Sounds like hes added a few tiny parts here and there. Still, Quite epic.
Wtf lol he has 2 of the same guitars? lol i guess why not, good job jeff keep on getting better dude your gonnna get far in life.
i hope a good soul tabs all his songs
nice. It has a jason becker vibe.
@metalmaniac9498 he probably gets them for nothing from schecter and would get paid for all the ones they sell anyway no reason not to stock up
why dont you learn them by ear then tab them out? its not to hard it just takes time
Ones full floyd, ones not.
Whats the point, no living being in existence would be able to play it
