I'm disabled. Haven't had "pet" fish for over 25 years. Been watching your videos and I've got to tell you, I just love them. So many things have changed, and seems for the most part in a good way. I hope that you continue, and hopefully become known as "the billionaire of fish keeping."
Love the “new” flow of these videos! I wasn’t a gigantic fan of the super scripted but I kept watching them because I enjoy the amount of educational information you provide.

i like the idea of having a different tank behind you in every video/stream... and in that case, irrelevant from the topic being discussed, it would be nice to have a few minutes where you talk about anything unique in that tank (fish, setup, maintenance...). Thanks for the awesome vids you guys do!
There’s a guy that buys all the smaller goldfish from our local Petsmart, grows them out, them sells em after they get bigger. Not sure where he’s selling em but I’m guessing as large feeders.
Great information John. Loving the less edited straight at you delivery 🚚. Heading to the store for more shirts now. I kept one, I gave Chattanooga Ed one, and Anthony’s Fishy Friends won one in a random giveaway I did. Just FYI, they are sized a little smaller than the usual 2x. I can wear it but a little snugger than I like to show. 🥱
Hmmmmm..... that's good to know. I tried the XL and XXL on and thought they were pretty accurate. We'll see if anyone else mentions that. If that's really a thing I'll make sure everyone knows. Thanks for the heads up.

Hello Mr. John I dont know if you remember me but I went to your shop once and I bought my first African Cichlid there and I absolutely love him hes been going 2 1/2 years strong big fan!🤘🏻🤘🏻
I just sold first set of guppies I was raising for 4 months. First $10 after hundreds spent on all the fish, food, supplies and 8 fish tanks. 😆 it’s a fun hobby though.
Wow!! This is all so great. I love the pros and cons because everyone needs to know about that. You've inspired me to branch out and ask our LFS to train me in saltwater tanks as well. Now I want to roll around town and find out who needs tank maintenance services! 😁
He said “doing it!” John. You are hilarious! I started a tank based on all your videos. Thanks for the professional opinions that have led to my tank’s success. Thank you.
I honestly enjoy a mix of both- the scripted top 10 videos are great, and the less scripted videos like this are awesome as well. Keep it up- I appreciate all the great content you produce!
Great vid bud! Maybe this falls under tank maintenance but doing the plumbing for a sump or just setting up an easy water change system for someone who loves fish but can’t/doesn’t want to handle 5 gallon buckets is also a solid opportunity.
Absolutely love your content. I'm trying to break into the breeding/selling world myself and watching your videos gives a lot of advice and more confidence.
I'll admit my first tank of cichlids I was a terrible fish keeper. knew nothing of water testing, regular upkeep etc..I did water changes when it started looking bad and I scrubbed everything, including the filter, clean (bad) My cichlids bred like crazy anyways! I didn't know until I saw the little ones rush back into momma's mouth during a water change. so my opinion, they'll bred no matter what the conditions, and I never seperated the babies, just give them lots of hiding spots. Thanks to all your videos I now know a LOT more. Great channel
I love y’all’s content and I think the new shirts are awesome! I have a baby Oscar that I’m growing out and the shirts are perfect..planning on getting a bubbles one as well for my girlfriend. Keep up the awesome work and congratulations on all the success John and Lisa 🎉

I haven't made a lot of money off my fish but I dig get the chance to make the apprentice kid at my local aqua shop very very happy. I had to rehome my featherfin catfish a while back and as it turned out this kid really wanted one but hadn't been able to afford it yet😁

thanks for the tips.! I was looking into breeding fish for the club I just joined to make some money. but I'm young and don't have the space for much, to make even the money back to what I put into it. however getting them young to grow to proper size and growing fresh water plants I can do plus I can make some more money that way.
Thanks for the honest info and content in this video! I love the Cichlid tank this week and can't wait to see if you continue this free flowing thingy next week! I am in need of a size medium Oscar shirt!! I love it! 🧡🤙🐠
Hehe I stayed till they end!!! I've been interested in aqua scaping for 5 years now, but I just got a 3 gallon tank and I hate it because I don't think that any fish should be kept in a 3 gallon tank. I Really, really, really want to do this now though!!
I may be a bit late, but my advice? Don’t let yourself be limited by the size of your tank! A three gallon may be too small for fish, but even with some of that space taken up by decorations, substrate, and plants, there’s still plenty of room for a small fish or some snails. If you’re really interested in aquascaping, try researching shrimp nano aquascapes or snail tanks. There are lots of really cool and beautiful projects that don’t require a big tank at all. For example, did you know it is possible to create an aquarium that is its own ecosystem? It is called an ecosphere. I’m pretty sure Fish for Thought did one. It’s a difficult project, but the result is a tiny world in a jar. If everything goes according to plan, no filter, no water changes, and no feeding would ever be needed. Anyways, my point is that there are loads of interesting aquascapes that don’t require a huge tank or fish, and if it’s what you have, 3 gallons is a viable tank to start a shrimp or snail nano aquascape before potentially moving onto a bigger tank with fish.

Thanks for this video, I am really curious about making a little cash back from my life long (over 50 years) hobby as I'm 62 now. By the way, you are very good at just free flowing off the top of your head with maybe a noter too tucked around your studio. A lot of people can't do it but you can. I used to be a public access cable producer and the only warning I would have and I'm sure you already know this, is don't force it. If it wears you out stop for a while.
Just wanted to say to both of you to keep up the great work that you do. I appreciate your honesty and being real. Many do not share the ups and downs of their experience in our hobby yet this is how we all learn. :)
Good info, I’m looking to do this one way or another with my fancy guppies and ballon belly’s as well as hope it breed some peacock eels and rite track. Hard but they look happy and flutter together so hoping they breed. I just need a market for when these fry hatch and it gets real
This may be considered click bait but I immediately clicked on this video as soon as I got the notification based on that thumbnail alone. Freakin hilarious
I breed swordtails as food for my Oscar. Since the swordtails breed so fast I sell all the excess for $1 each. I recently got a standard bristlenose male and an albino bristlenose female. Can't wait for them to start breeding. So many fish keepers want albinos. Other fish producers value fish with the albino gene. I also growout koi. They start small and cheap. But raised on high quality and fresh foods they get huge and are gorgeous. Businesses like Chinese food restaurants and high end hotels will pay a pretty $$$ for larger koi.
I am curious, when going the maintenance route. Let’s say your setting up a new fish tank for someone, whether it be at home or a business. A new tank has to cycle, sure you can add bacteria or take a filter from an existing tank to speed up the process. How do you explain to a client (whether at home or a business) that you can’t add many fish. You also have the potential for a bacteria bloom clouding up the water. Not sure if they would be to happy with no fish or a cloudy tank. How would you handle this situation?
Really liked your video. I always think about saving all the fry and what to do with them. Thanks for the suggestions. Lastly, loved your background, water was so clear and clean. Do you use any special media, like Purigen, or Chemipure?

I bred Super Red Bristlenose to sell to the local pet store and they sell a lot of them and got some to other stores until this virus. Now I just set up 2 300 gallon stock tanks to put them in. Probably 1000 to 1200😱. Would love to sell them in bulk 😁 Well back to water changes.🤣
Every other video you say something along the lines of I don’t want this video to be an hour long half hour long ect. those are my favorite videos. More content more information plus I just love your videos keep doing what you’re doing buddy.
It's probably a lot more advantageous to get an emersed setup for growing plants than to grow them in an aquarium. You do not have to rely on water parameters, it's a whole lot easier to maintain and fertilize + they get CO2 from the outside constantly. That's how big plant distributors do it and if you seriously want to go this route, it's probably the best. It is not even that hard, if you have some space in a garage :D

How do you price commercial work? I know of 4 tanks here locally unused or under utilized at businesses, one of them is at least 300 gallons....
Great and useful information. Thanks.
I used to breed angel fish and you are right. I got 1 dollar a fish. I was so disappointed. I quit doing it. So much work for so little money.
I love your advise bro!
how many times do you need to clean gravel
