This is a masterpiece he wrote at only 19. The story? He was going out with a young lady who gave him some white satin sheets. After they broke up, he wrote this song. When the girl in question was told he wrote this song for her, she went and asked him if it was true. When he said yes, they started going out again. Not long after that, they got married and are still together today.
The lead singer, Justin Hayward, wrote this when he was only 19. He’s 76 now and still touring! I was blessed to have seen him live in 2022. His voice is still as beautiful and sultry as ever.
Rarely heard is the spoken conclusion that is on the album, “Days of Future Passed:” Breathe deep the gathering gloom Watch lights fade from every room Bed sitter people look back and lament Another days useless energy spent Impassioned lovers wrestle as one Lonely man cries for love and has none New mother picks up and suckles her son Senior citizens wish they were young Cold hearted orb that rules the night Removes the colors from our sight Red is gray and yellow white But we decide which is right And which is an illusion
This will still be a classic in a 100 years time. I have been a fan of the Moody Blues since I first heard them in 1964. I am now 79, and still love their music. Thank you lads for all your great music.
The lead singer wrote this when he was only 19. He is now 77 and still touring! I was blessed to see him live in 2022 and his voice is still as beautiful and compelling as ever! Thank you for your special reaction. He is amazing!!!
I still sing this in the shower and it is well over 50 years old (I am slowly creeping over that border myself!). It's a British classic and I suspect it will still be around long after I'm gone.
I loved this from the 1st time i heard it back in the 1970,s and this to me is the best version ever. I used to listen to an instrumentel version a lot, Was good, But together with there voices, Its heavenly. The best thing is that we can play this again at any time we feel and alone. Thank you Justin Hayward.
🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 Really like to see your reaction to Joe Bonamassa with Jimmy Barnes "Live studio" Song is 🎶 Stone Cold 🎶 Your gonna adore this song too Keep the good work Sunshine 🌞
This isn’t a song really, it’s a mash up of Classical music and Rock ( which very few bands have mastered). This gorgeous live performance is a testament to how “ music is music” and how this Masterpiece is up there with “Stairway To Heaven” or “Bohemian Rhapsody” give the studio version a listen to get the full experience. As another commenter so eloquently describes it, it includes the spoken word that most know and love. Beautiful woman, beautiful reaction❤️
I love your reaction. So genuine. It's such a transcendent song. You should check out Greta Van Fleet: The Archer, Meeting the Master or The Weight of Dreams.
Legendary song with it all….was so lucky to see this live in Atlanta with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra….very emotional song and meaning. To watch them love the ending with the orchestra playing…Great reaction by you…might be from heaven.
A great band from Birmingham England stay safe young lady.It would be great to see you do a reaction to Eivør - Falling Free (Live at the Old Theater in Torshavn) This young lady is full of talent thank you.and all the best from England.

Rarely heard is the spoken conclusion that is on the album, “Days of Future Passed:”
Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bed sitter people look back and lament
Another days useless energy spent
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love and has none New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young
Cold hearted orb that rules the night Removes the colors from our sight
Red is gray and yellow white But we decide which is right And which is an illusion

This song written in 1960 was released and written for his wife to be, they married in 1970
This was written a few years later than 1960 - I think 1967.
