When an SM artist is releasing a new music, most of the stans are not expecting it to be a typical beat or pattern you usually hear. Honestly, when Black Mamba was released, I've seen comments like they feel SM played it safe that time (it's still kinda unique for me tho, with the absence of rap part for an idol song? Yep). Nevertheless, SM songs how complicated it may be at first hear, their artists nailed it that you cannot really comment on their talent and versatility. They are not just releasing songs, they are releasing timeless music and that is the very reason why SM and SM artists will never be a flop despite bigger fandoms out there. I remember how futuristic View and 4walls that people comment that it is so ahead of its time, the bop it is. Some say they are out of trend and should step up their game but they are making things on their own, they are not following it, they are setting it. The SMCU? Who does it like them? Who incorporates all of their artists theories and stories? That's just cool. They are stepping their game and not playing it safe. It's amazing how all of their artists nailed whatever song was given. True talent it is.
I usually have to listen to a song 3-4 times before I start to like it, even when it comes to my faves. This song I liked the second it started, truly iconic!
They showed us their vocals, this gave us Rap and they've consistently shown us their dance moves. I am in love. Gosh..... I'll look back in like 5 yrs and say wow..... I stanned them at the beginning and I'm proud that I did. Proud MY here Anywho have you seen we have 9 versions of the EXO album????
You know the feeling when you are watching a Kpop MV and you are close to crying even though the song is not sad. That's what I have felt with EXO and now I'm feeling it for the second time with AESPA. I think I'm starting to love them even though I am not into Girlgroups. 😗

It's not on the same level as "I Got a Boy" to me. IGAB was truly groundbreaking. "Next Level" is very good though. I loved the MV and the updated sound but I must say, this is a very interesting creative choice for SM to have another remake as aespa's first comeback. The last time SM pulled a similar surprise was SNSD's remake of the rock classic "So Nye Shi Dae" (yup, song title was same as the SNSD group name).
A woman of culture, I see. 💜 You should react to ep. 1 Black Mamba to dig deeper into aespa's lore and concept. It'll give a whole new perspective to Next Level. 😉
