I remember getting a ride to go to s.f., and although the mileage was less than the fare amount, I didn't think it'd be worth it. Sure I'd hit My goal and then some driving around the area, I think I need at least $80-$100 to go out there. The ride was kinda like yours, but I think that's not good enough.

I think you are on the right track. Do the quick analysis and determine if it's a profitable ride before you hit accept. Yes, the $$$ in the pocket is great but what was the cost to earn it. Thanks for watching and I really appreciate your feedback.

That first one surprised me. That was barely a dollar per mile. Is it possible that at the end of your video do a scroll through from bottom up (chronological order) so that we can see mileage and pay for each ride?

Sometimes I take the lower $/mile to get from point A to where I want to be. Overall, I do try to stick with the strategy.
Yes it is possible. In fact, I will start to post the spreadsheet breakdown at the end of the videos so you can see all of the rides.

great video as always! please explain how you negotiate for cash rides? how do you convince riders to go for that? thanks!

Thanks! I've only offered to do a cash ride three times and converted one. Before the ride starts and they are in the car, I ask them what Uber charged them for the ride. While they answer, I hand them a business card and offer to do the ride at a saving to them which in return is an increase in pay for me. Same service at a lower rate for them. I point them to the back of the card, where they can pay via Venmo or CashApp. I sometimes tell them to think of me as their private driver and if they enjoy the ride experience they can call me in the future. The two that declined didn't use either of the payment apps and the one that accepted was happy to do it. I am looking for business men and women or people that are in a bind. For example, if you are picking someone up from a hotel and taking them to another hotel farther away, more than likely they are in a bind and Uber was their only choice to get to the destination.

@@bMacUberDriver genius! do you mind sharing how much Uber was charging the customer and what you ended up charging them?
I always wonder how much Uber is taking versus what they’re paying us. I know it’s different depending on distance

I believe it was about $60 and I offered to do the ride for $40 and he gave me $10 cash tip.

I honestly don't recall but at $40 I was making more.
