    Normally people don't explore the station to much due to MTA workers hanging down there. But you did a pretty good job covering the station. Also like that one train filled with graffiti, it's always interesting when people do that.

    The MTA and Transit Museum do have tours of the old City Hall station and it's best to contact them to find out when the next tour is. Only other option is a ride through passing glimpse after the Brooklyn Bridge station the trains still deadhead around the loop and return. City Hall is a beautiful old rustic station and also rumoured to have some spiritual activity.

    The NY Transit Museum should be relocated here so that Court St station can connect to the Second Ave Line which would then continue as the Fulton St Line’s local tracks. Because this would de-interline services in the Cranberry St Tunnel. Also, to then ease trains turning around at WTC, the E can continue to terminate there and the C can be routed via an entirely new line which there’s a provision for just before the terminus and run all the way via the west coast of Brooklyn and then terminate at Ninth Ave using the abandoned lower level.

    They need to reopen all the abandoned stations tunnels and lines

    • @RyeT5
      @RyeT5 2 года назад +4

      They can't for city hall lower level because the initial plan the lower-level platform would go to Brooklyn and the upper level would terminate but the plan changed so the lower level was used on storing trains.

    There are so many unfinished stations this one is more important although many of you might know that you beaches pneumatic Transit ran through here. When this tunnels and station was dug up they found the old car still on its tracks. Sadly this was never used. Destroyed part of that old tunnel. The rest still remains under a building off public. Any one who finds that records it. Would be a god upon the transit rail fans. I know where it is. But the landlord never lets people into the basement to see it. It waiting room still there. Across from city hall.

    Why are their stations down on the city hall lower level?

    • @the-renegade
      @the-renegade 2 года назад +1

      Uh, it is difficult to explain... But, initially, the plan was that all Broadway services were to operate south to the Financial District over to Brooklyn. The upper level (active) was supposed to be a terminal. In contrast, the lower level consisted of BMT express trains operating to Lower Manhattan and South Brooklyn-which is why the lower station of Canal Street consisted of a four-track layout where express trains bypass the station mentioned above.
      Clearly, that didn't happen because it was decided that express trains were to use the Manhattan Bridge, killing the aforementioned plan in the process. So, they converted BMT City Hall Station to allow local service to operate on the upper level and let the lower level defunct.

    • @YAZZYUTUBE
      @YAZZYUTUBE 2 года назад +3

      It was never used for passengers. They rerouted the express tracks over the Manhattan Bridge before the line was ever opened. The upper level was supposed to be the last stop for the locals and the lower level was going to take the route the (R) now takes to Brooklyn.

      This station is often used to lay up extra trains. Depending on how extreme weather is, they lay trains up between stations in between stations. Not in service tracks,and stations perfect place put trains there normal practice.
