    You are such innocent people!! For all those complaining from refusal and that the officer didn't ask them many questions, the decision is made even before you have your interview and it doesn't matter what you say it won't change a thing. The officer is just an employee and he does what he has been told to do. They don't give a shit about your plans or studies they know that USA has the most tremendous economy in the whole world and by refusing you (but not banning) still gives you some hope to get accepted and apply again and pay for the visa again and again. And If it's not you there will always be others willing to apply and there will always be millions of people all around the world applying for the lottery.
    It's not at all about living illegally in the US it's a policy and so far it has been working very well messing with people's lives and money.

    They don't even ask you questions! Sometimes it seems like they just say, I AM JUST GONNA APPROVE EVERY 20th person I interview. So it depends on where your number falls in. I feel even sadder when some people with fake documents and wrong reasons are approved. A whole family was rejected from attending their son's wedding father, mother siblings. The man cried until he had no tears! He was alone on his wedding day! And none of them even planned on staying in the US.

      Sandra loves Jesus Christ same here. I had applied for a certificate program from UCLA. These heartless people have no sense of identifying who is a genuine applicant. People with fraud documents are enjoying tjeir time in US and people like me who just wanted to study n cone back are denied.

    First of all, the comments are true: it is all about the mood of the officer, no doubt about it. He checks the computer in wich level of PacMan he is, he checks your face, then he get the blue paper is his desk, your passport, and goodbye. Perhaps he could ask two or three questions like where do you work or where do you live (things that already are in DS form dough!) so he can say later he is really working. And that's it. Byebye. Or... maybe you have luck and you get a nice officer who is really working, polite, and respectful. But i guess that after 300k views on this video, and thousands more in the web, well... is not the case.
    I am the VC of a company, have a house, cars, land, and my doughter of eight is in school, also in november i got a court summon by a Federal Judge. Yet... i just get bad luck and the guy was just playing Pacman.
    My advice? do not plan anything, do not pay an airline, do nothing. Just take this visa application as a bet in the casino. That's it. Red or black. Just luck.
    /// Secondly the info in the video is useless: under section 214 it is claread stated that "todays decition cannot be appelead" and the "presentation of documents is not need it as the officer words is more than sufficient". Words!!! Byebye human rights or any other, hahaha.
    /// Third: don't tell me it's not a good way to make money. After all, that's how they make money, removing it from other countries. Just in 300k comments we are talking about 48 million dollars. And that is just one youtube video. US is not just a nation, is a big company business nation. If you are latin, african, or asian (poor and useless to them) keep all that in mind, because plainly is just good business.
    /// Good luck to all.

    My parents are USA residents and I have just been denied a visa under section 214(b). But I suspect it's because I'm a dual Iranian-UK national despite being an ethnic Armenian Christian. It thwarted the entire family plan!

    I was denied a US Visa today along with my daughter. Was never given a reason why. No documents were asked for. The Consular just asked 3 questions. Q1. My occupation? A1. Nurse's Aide. Q2. Why is my husband not accompanying me? A2. He already has his VISA. Q3. What is my purpose of visit? A3. My daughter always wanted to go Walt Disney. His response was, ' That is not in Pennsylvania' and I responded, 'No, it isn't'. After that he typed up something on the computer and said you were denied, have a nice day. So, I was left confused on by us staying in a different state from where we want to visit caused us to get denied?

    I understand what you are saying but in Trinidad they dont look at your papers. You got proof of strong ties and they still deny you. The ironic thing is that people who have no ties gets 10 year visas unbelievable. I got kids bank accounts my own business a car and this person has no kids at the time no car now start to work so their account small and got 10 years. I been to the U.S three times and never over stayed. The system especially in trinidad is prejudice.

    The whole experience was very bad even in my i20 shows that i have more enough funds to study in USA
    I think the visa approval is basically based on the mood of officer bcoz the person behind me already is arguing withat that visa officer and when my turn comes she reject my visa

    I applied for a transit visa and was denied. All I wanted was to transit to go to another country because I obtained a work permit there but there were no direct flights to the country. My entire family is in my homeland including my son. It was so ridiculous. I walked with all my documents and was still denied because they said I didn't have enough ties! I had my young son at home. I went and got a Canadian Visa right away and have been travelling hassle free for the past three years since.

I have prepared all other supporting documents to prove my ties in the Philippines but the Consul did not ask for it. Of course he asked for my income, but since I am a pastor, I only have a minimal income. The interviewer ask me a question and my answer was that after attaining an associate degree in Nursing at waubonsee community college, I'll be transferring to a university for my bachelor then she said "so you'll be going for your bachelor in usa too" and I said yes. She asked me other questions and later said I do not qualify and it was on 214(b)... what should I do when I go for another interview

    I was asked why I chose the computer science and while answering the first question, he interrupted with the second question asking what cool things I have done with computing.
    My answer to first question was that I have always been interested in computer and technology so I chose Computer Engineering as my undergraduate studies where I studied subjects like Java, data mining, etc which are core subjects in computer science. Then I was interupted and for second question, I answered with the projects(two of them) I had done in my college. after hearing it, he didn't anything else and told me that he thinks I'm not going there for only studying purpose. What the hell. how can someone tell what one is thinking based on that. Utterly disappointed. Can you help me where I went wrong.

    hi, my parents applied for a US visa from India and unfortunately they were refused as per 214(b).They performed very well at the interview. The interviewer didnt ask for any supporting documents.I am on L2 visa in US and my husband on L1. I am the sponsor while we applied for my parents visa since I am working as a software engineer. The interviewer asked my parents about their ties with India, my parents are both working and my younger sibling and they also have a house in India. They asked my parents what was my visa status twice, once in the beginning of the interview and once towards the end. So we are assuming that my dependent visa status could be the reason for rejection. Please can you suggest what could be the reason for rejection?

    I am an american citizen who lives and abroad (russia) with my girlfriend. She was denied under 214b yesterday in moscow. The application was for a tourist visa for a one month stay to the US, accompanied by me, so that she could meet my parents, friends and see where i grew up. Everything went well until the consular asked what year student she was. Her answer: A fifth year university student who will be graduating next month. As she stated this, the consular shook his head and said he couldn't give her a visa because there is a high possibility she will stay. She had invitations from myself and my parents, documents from work, and photos of the two of us over the span of our 4 year relationship. We are both very upset and have no idea what to do. We need help and advice

    • @VisaPro
      @VisaPro  10 лет назад

      When applying for a tourist visa, the applicant must prove to the Officer's satisfaction that they no immigrant intent. Because she is with a US citizen, the officer most likely assumed you and your girlfriend would remain in the US, get married and she would then try to apply for a green card. While this may not be true, it is most likely the reason he denied the application. She can try to re-apply but in order to do so she must be able to show something different than the first appointment. If you are living in Russia and working there and have no intention of moving back to the US, maybe she can re-apply with evidence showing that you have no intent to return to the US at this time. Again, the officer may not accept this and can deny again.

    My answers were: Marketing and following with reasons, getting a job in world bank as a policy marketer and finally the last question startled me bc I wasnt prepared for such thing so i genuinely said i dont know. They straight up said that I wasnt qualified enough. What should I do? If I need to change my documents, does it mean I have to change my major too? If we get married in Italy does that cancel out his denial?

    • @VisaPro

      When applying for a tourist visa, the applicant must prove to the Officer's satisfaction that he/she has no immigrant intent. Because your fiancé was coming to the US to see you, the officer most likely assumed he might remain in the US, get married and he would then try to apply for a green card. While this may not be true, it is most likely the reason he denied the application. When reapplying, the Consular officer will expect to see different or new documents to show that the applicant does not have immigrant intent and has strong ties to the home country. They will also have a record of the previous interview and denial. You and your fiancé can get married in Italy, but this may make it more difficult to get the visitor visa. But USA doesn't then it will always harass travelers transiting to fly to other countries. Beijing airport, they even have 5 buttons on travelers side of counter travelers can push to evaluate the work of officer in that transit gate while in USA, the immigration officers are evaluating innocent travelers.

I have acquired these documents as of now (photocopies, in case of my parents visas). Also, since he did not ask me for anything else before refusing my visa, I did not think it was possible to show the documentation I did bring with me to the interview: certificate of studies from my university, and my scolarship documents. If you live in Belarus and have permanent residence there, there’s no need to go to Gambia.

      You should have tried to submit it up-front, but sometimes the Consular Officer will not accept it. If you’d like to discuss this, please schedule a consultation with a VisaPro Immigration Attorney.

I was standing awaiting him if he will ask for them . Please talk to me this situation, I’m really confused. Why the consular did not ask for my documents

      Thank you for your query. Consular officers are not required to look at your documentation and can make a decision based simply on your DS-160 and questions you answer at the interview. Please schedule a consultation with a VisaPro attorney at www.visapro.com to review your situation and to try to find a possible solution.

    Decent airports of civilized democratic countries always have restricted departure area, they won't impose any passport control on travelers moving from arrival area to the restricted departure area for transit. Only USA and N Korea don't have such system then arrogantly requiring all passenger to go through the passport control, then denying entry, deport back to the original airport. It's ridiculous!

    Hello sir.I will be participating at a work and travel program an I have applied for a J1 visa,
    But during my DS 160 application I was asked this question "Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?"
    I misunderstood the question so I answered no although I did apply but I hasn't been selected !
    What should I tell the consulate if he ask me "have you ever applied for a US lottery?
    and if I said no, would that answer indicate poor ties to my home country ?
    By the way I have no intent to violate my visa.
    I need a reply as soon as possible as my visa interview get closer . Thank you.

      paul boss Applying for the visa lottery is not the same as filing an immigrant petition. You answered the question on the DS-160 correctly. It is unlikely that an officer will ask you if you have ever applied in the lottery.
