You know I was wondering why you wanted to cameo Pivot Stickfigure of all characters from Aureus, and oh my goddddddddddddd This still feels like a fever dream seeing Ceda of all characters in Beatdown, quite possibly making him the most obscure fighter yet. Even though I'm one of the few people who watches LeatherIceCream, I still rewatch the moveset multiple times to fully process everything. Very glad you recaptured the chaotic nature of The Poor 4, especially the gang's appearance in Ceda's Down Special. I hope to god Ceda meets up with Tord n' the DIO gang in lore, I would LOVE to see what mind-fuckery will unfold.
Well, Lawl Beatdown is back at it again with another fire moveset, and I couldn’t be more glad! I admittedly don’t know anything about Ceda, but this set was definitely still a great and interesting one nonetheless. I really enjoy how the character plays out, as his attacks, both standards and specials, look incredibly fun and chaotic to pull off. The Neutral Specials unique properties for both variants look very cool, The Side Special plays into that aforementioned chaos element very well, while also still having some fair drawbacks, The Up Specials many options and properties makes it out to be a very diverse recovery (helped by the ability to use the air dodge, which is a mechanic I thought was cool as well) and my personal favorite, the Down Special and not just the buffs, but the new standards that come with it! The Final Smash also seems like a great finisher (mainly when in the right spot) and the moveset continually went strong with the Ko’s, Taunts, funny Unique Ko animation, and also funny victories and lore segments. Overall this moveset was definitely something I’d rate highly. Good work Shad. (And I’m also really hyped for the D Kess Sequel of course.)
Its always a pleasant experience seeing special, never before hinted characters getting move sets on holidays. Welcome back, Shad! While I can't say I've heard of this character before, Ceda's become a favourite of mine already, if mainly because he feels like early Eddsworld if it was on lots of LSD. His playstyle is very fitting, being a fast and loose character who makes who of the typical strangeness of his series to keep foes on their feet. My favorite move is the Smash Attacks variant in his Down Special where the rest of the Poor 4 get to help Ceda. The cameos being based of characters that had appeared in his source was a nice touch, especially the unexpected appearance from the Spartan King himself at the end. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing him in future lore scenes. Oh, and thinks for the heads up on D Kess sequel. I've been looking forward to that since it was announced, and can't wait to see the final result.
I think that the best part of Lawls is getting to know new characters. Like, I don't know anything aboout Ceda, but he looks so cool and fun to watch, play as, and even get to know
This moveset will make me lose my mind /lh For real, this has to be one of the craziest movesets I've ever seen in a good while in terms of just the source material. The series that this guy comes from looks like a more unhinged version of Eddsworld and I'm all for it. It is indeed a simple set but it works someone who seems to be as simple minded as this guy, plus there were some pretty fun aditions to spice things up like the Aerial Dash likely providing a lot of extra options in terms of combos and the Down B which buffs you while also giving the spotlight to this guy's sidekicks. I also don't know if you had to color all of the sprites given the monochromatic look of the inspiration clips, but if you did then hoooly shit that's a lot of dedication! Certainly excited to see this guy come back in future lore scenes specially, as the ending to this video had some really funny moments ("Holy shit, it's This is Sparta Remix guy!") But my favorite detail is all of the cameos. At first I thought they were just there because this guy comes from the early internet and you went with characters that fit that criteria (thanks for featuring Bigfoot and Crack Figure btw!), but the fact that they were shout outs to when those characters got shouted out in these animations is such a great touch!
I feel like as if I'm having an aneurysm as I'm watching it, yet I can't stop. This is too much of a high effort shitpost given the amount of custom animations and cameos that are probably references I didn't get. I really love how on surface, this is probably the craziest and out-of-the-box moveset in Beatdown. Upon closer inspection despite the huge amount of potential options and the unhinged animations (/pos), not only are they balanced but there's also a lot of thought put into it than just "random chaos lol" that the newer Lawlers should take into mind. And despite how weird just about everything is, they're all a reference to the game or even just small videos that LeatherIceCream made; from Side Air having the unique function of what's basically a Mario dive, to Neutral and Side B's mechanics being taken from (and explained by) a couple of throwaway gags that shouldn't even have relevance in gameplay being turned into the move's own restriction. On top of it all, even with all the custom animations and drawings, this, in your opinion, is a "relatively quicker moveset" to do *_meanwhile_** you're working on another project with Zab.* I'm not sure if that's a telling of your skills or the amount of effort that the upcoming videos would have, and either way I'm all in for it. -Right now I'm just staring at awe of your power and contemplating whether we should take you down before you get too powerful.- /j But in conclusion, this is a really awesome and intriguing moveset for the Slavic psychopath himself, and likely a hint that I should get into the crazy world of Poor 4 (despite the recent shut down of the Poor 4 wiki, sadly enough.)
As one of the few people who has experienced not only The Poor 4 but LeatherIceCream's other memetastic content, I must say this is a solid representation of the man who has started 5 world wars and invented Counter-Strike 1.6 I especially dig some of the cameos that call back to some of the stuff Leather's involved with (stick figures, Isaac, San Andreas Myths), very complimentary stuff (like bread and male genitalia /ref)
It's been what? YEARS since the last time I've ever seen a Lawl video in my entire life, but, besides of that, as someone who just got into Leather's stuff some time ago, and also currently playing ALTCC, this looks great!
Čeda fits perfectly into Beatdown, not just thanks to his physical resemblance to Tord but also because he fits right into the style of many of the fighters on the roster (noteworthy classic web animation and webcomics). His weapon-heavy moveset also fits right in given the sometimes chaotic nature of The Poor 4 (and its games), with Čeda using knives and Miroslav soldiers as offensive options and the Burek Cape as a defensive option. Plus I do like how the Down B causes him to not only gain faster speed but also have his Poor 4 comrades do smash attacks alongside him. The FS is also perfect, it's quick but deadly (as long as Čeda's dummy doesn't miss) and ends with a bang (quite literally). Of course, the animation was amazing as always, and I do like how you took things from the games Poor 4 had in addition to the main series, as well as having other Lawl characters cameoing here based on things directly referenced in Poor 4 (ex: classic YTP sources and early web animations), that is a nice touch. Čeda is a nice surprise fighter to the roster, and Beatdown has more great things to come alongside him which I look forward to!
I agree with pretty much everything you said. Čeda definitely fits right in among the roster of "Beatdown", which as we've seen up to this point, is what I'd best describe as an "internet hall of fame".
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH FRICK, Ok, I think I found my main, anyway, I didn’t expect this guy at all, since I didn’t know the source with this guy, but good lord everything about this moveset is just, amazing, I really like how the forward air is the air dash, and I like how when he gets crazy after drinking the fire flavored milk, his friends are his smash attacks and throws, and, that final smash is amazing, you did a great job on this set, and I am H Y P E D for Harry Freakin’ Potter.
That was quite a pleasant surprise. I've certainly never heard of or seen this character before up until watching this video. But after seeing this video, I may need to check out Ceda in his original series. Also, I see that we'll be seeing more of Hell very soon, so that will be exciting to watch.
By the way, I also love how one of Ceda's teammates was playing "Croc" in one of those scenes, as that was one of my favourite PS1 games as a child. EDIT 03.11.2024 - And now eight/nine months later, "Croc" has been officially remastered for modern consoles.
