I've never seen a Simpson's gouache painting before, that's such a fun idea. And your painting is amazing. It's so colourful, and you got such smooth coverage in just one layer. Wow. And it looked great even before the line art: you kept all the colours beautifully separated and they contrasted so well.

Try sealing the painting with a workable fixative and the pens may work better on top of that, the fixative should make it so the gouache doesn’t pick up on the pen tip. Haven’t tried it myself yet but planing to and assuming it will work lol

what is this kind of art style called? where you can basically replicate another drawing yk pen paint whatever, cuz i do it and people call it tracing but ive never traced anything before. i can just print it onto the paper and just use whatever colors i want yk like my hand is the printer, but idk what its called, if its an art style or not.
i usually double rinse my brushes after using them, and just don’t soak your brushes in water in a long time ( for minutes ) i used to soak my brushes in water and they didn’t last long lmao😭
@@gazoostudio i heard about this from another comment that gouache dries out your drawing pen so don't worry , there's nothing wrong with those pens they just dry on gouache surface i guess?
i think its better using an actual glass because its not as easy to scratch as acrylic glass, but i love to use acrylic glass because its way lighter than an actual glass hehe
I have the issue of my paint on my palette drying out while I'm painting so I can't get that satisfying jelly consistency, but if I mix a smaller bit on my palette, then I can't make the same shade again.
I dont know anything about gouache. But perhaps you should make thick blobs instead of spreading it over a bigger surface area. I hope thats easy to understand

Your drawing pens aren't working with the gouache probably because it's too think so I would try mixing just a tiny bit more water with your paint I hope that works

I always add dots in the intersections of my sketches then takes a pic of it before painting. Kind of grid like but a few dots without lines
You can always take a picture of ur line work, thats what I do when working with acrylic gouache :)

i have never seen colours being mixed so prettily... i always end up with wayyyy darker shades or a very dull pastel shade
aaaa thankyou so much! you can add the pigment little by little and swatch them first on another paper
I personally recommend using any inky gel ball point pens because they don’t get stuck on the gouache rather then the micro pens.

6:28 you can use Sakura Pigma micron pens they work so good🙂, I also had these same pens and sometimes the ink won’t work properly🙁
what size do u think that are suitable for outlining?
Well it depends on what size of outline you want for your drawing, maybe you can use black 08-0.5mm
