This was a cool video using the old dragline and the new Hyuindia 210 to dredge the crazy pond.
Might have gotten in a little over my head water was deeper than thought.

When you pull the bucket, try to imagine how far you need to come in to fill it. If you pull any more than that the material just spills out of the bucket and gets mixed into soup which you can't pick up until it settles for a few days. Excessive inhauling also wastes cycle time. If you cast all the way out and pull all the way back in you are just using up the clock. Remember the boom angle needs to be about 40 degrees or a little less for the best bucket angles and distance you can cast.
Still amazes me how the old timers would look so ridiculous smooth in their draglines. I used to watch them as a kid. It was like an art form watching a really good operator. Them old boys were tough, winter, summer rain they were rubbing them. Really like watching you all working on this. Would love to see how that dam is doing or flyover of the whole thing if the owner would allow.
Watching that drag line work gives me a whole new respect for the old timers from back in the day.
Drag line operators has to be a combination of tough, talented and crazy to put themselves thru all that. But there wasn't anything else!
try 25 years of that..
Operating an excavator is a skill.
Operating a dragline is an art.
@@Agnemons you bet it is............
MBTS is pretty good help. He is a Boilermaker, equipment operator, cameraman, wingman and a pretty funny guy. Thanks DP.
He needs a raise, where the captain?
Like your video
Put all your used diesel motor oil on that deck if you want it to last. Works fantastic. Love the channel !!
Hello DP, When I was in the service over 50 years ago We had machine like your dragline. One guy had a canvas curtain made to direct the air flow from the radiator. It was about 2 feet wide and went from radiator housing to the side wall held on by magnets. Easily removed for cold weather. This might help you. Great to see old machines working again. Brings back memories.
Is the fan reversible?
My Northwest pushed the air through the radiator, and kept the operator fairly comfortable in warmer weather because of the wind tunnel effect
MBS is getting to be quite the dozer man you guys compliment each other
It is great to have the connections/friendships between you and wade. He helps you. You help him. But if you were to steal his lumber the statute of limitations would be up by the time the vija is up loaded. Just kidding had to make a time frame joke
We still love watching you and Aaron. Thanks for getting logger wade back out there. Keep up the good work.
The Dragline is a winner in my book, yes it is slow and unwieldly but you are getting better at it, everybody needs a big toy at times.....lol. Bonus Video of the elusive Logger Wade in his natural habitat was so cool. Keep up the good work guy's.
Absolutely love that old drag line! Mike, Aaron, great job! It was a winner🎉 Thanks for sharing 👍
First Enjoy your Sunday. God Bless.
Good morning guys
Old glory looks awesome flying on top of the boom.
I agree!!!
im glad to see we got union power doing all the measuring and heaving lifting.
I can watch your videos 7 days a week 24 hours a day the best
That is some grade casting right there - so good to see when it all comes together. Just gotta teach Chris some of those casting secrets now!!, lol
I am thankful that there is no Smell~a~Vision available for todays episode! 🤣🤣👍👍
Dirt Perfect, MBTS,AND Logger Wade now that would be THE VIDEO TO SEE😮 THANKS GUYS
Fifty plus years ago when I was 10 or 12 I watched a guy called George driving a Ruston Bucyrus 22 RB dragline, dredging out the river below where I live, it was poetry in motion watching an artist at work. Sat in the river dredging downstream, and loading two tractor dump trailers (barely spilling a pebble when loading), he could nearly make that thing dance. I sat for hours watching it at work, watching you adapting to this old fashioned machinery brought back marvellous childhood memories THANKS, keep on producing your brilliant vlogs thoroughly enjoy watching . Phil B.
Im with you I never find anything good when I’m digging, Also why do we not have smellovision yet, for those that haven’t smelled the wonderful aroma of that mud. Its Yummy! Always best when you splash yourself and even get to taste it 👍🥴
43:35 or so a good sized fish jumped up out of that pond!😁
I remember as a kid in 70’s and 80’s the Columbia Basin Irrigation District using drag lines to clear out their deeper and bigger irrigation ditches. They worked well.
Very entertaining i take my hat off to you for even trying to operate that piece of art
Old glory 🇺🇸 looks great on the drag line!
Thanks
came over from Chris/letsdig18 channel to watch some dredging with the dragline.. great to see Logger Wade and his timber mill ..
Thanks and welcome
At 39:44 was the best cast I’ve ever seen you make
I ran some bucyrus and a northwestern back in the late 90’s early 2000’s they are a job. I was ok, by no means was I a dragline operator hahaha but I worked with guys that were amazing on em just fluid it was fun to watch. I didn’t really wanna be on one long enough to get that good they’re so much work haha. A long stick will get out there bout as far and so much easier and way better seats but I sure do like seein that one workin!! Glad you saved it. It’s all timin and coordination you’ll get it
Good morning Mike and Aaron
Your customer ought to be pleased with the job that You and Aaron did to the pond. The old Bucyrus Erie sounds great. God Bless and Stay Safe.
Way cool, thanks for the drag line bucket school.
Pull out the topsoil and mud and put down a drive to the ramp! Easygoing.
22:25 smells great!!!
Ok - How about a barge to have the dredge on and towing another barge to dump dirt into. Just what the Dr needed. More stuff to tote around. 🙂
More seat time you'll be swinging mud like a pro. Im sure it'd take me couple days to get back on it again after 20 plus years of not running one
Good morning DP and Aaron
A great Sunday morning waking up to two and half men on video Dirt Perfect Logger Wade and Man behind the scene. Mike and crew stay safe and have a blessed end of the year.
The bond that you manbehindthesecne and logerwade have is amazing true friendship right there
Morning coffee on!! lov ya guys! Here we go! I'll be right over! ya!!;-)!
That Drag Line brings back childhood memories, every construction project had one. Long before Michigan loaders and excavators.
It's great seeing old equipment working. Thanks for sharing
I thought you would have had a life jacket on Michael. 🤩🤩
Man, I had my fingers crossed when you made that jump from the grass to the tracks. 🤞😳 I’ve watched @Failarmy too much I guess. 😂
Have a great week guys.
Fresh pot of coffee ☕️ and a screen full of dirt, how perfect 😆 🤣
Lmfao at Aaron.... I was thinking the same thing 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Love the music in this video
Thanks
Like the different camera angles. Great work.
Thanks
Great dozer work MBTS. DP getting better at the drag line. Both machines still splash the muck on pretty good. What a team you guys have become. Thanks again!!!!!!
Good morning 👍
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. I have watched draglines work before and they definitely can make it look really easy and efficient. Considering the minimal time you have had in the seat I think you are definitely getting the movements down. Just need more time in the seat. The only question will be if you have the time to dedicate to getting better at operating it, you certainly make every other machine you own look extremely easy. Wishing you and your family the best.
Great video DP and MBTS. It is awesome to see that drag line up and running.
Great to see that behemoth of a dragline still operating. Great job Mike! 🙂👍🇮🇪
Wouldn't a scuba dive with a bucket and shovel be faster than ol fred flintstone's dragline? Hahaha! Anyway it makes for better TV than a cable network. Love your channel
Another happy camper pond owner thanks to Mike Dirt and Arron.
The old antique drag line fits the old saying, A Big Boy Toy for Big Men.
One a feller better handle carefully if he doesn't want to eat some heavy steel cable.
Hi DP. Great to see and hear logger Wade's laugh again.
DP Could you tell us a little more about the history of the stone quarry? From when until when was it in production? how big was he? How many people worked there? what kind of machines did they have there?
why did it close? Could you open it again together with the neighbor?
Oh yes, thanks to Logger wade I found your RUclips channel
Greetings from the Netherlands.
👍👍👍👍👍👍 another job well done
Looking really good guys 👌
Great to see the dragline operating, cheers Gary
Great video! Always fun to watch the rusty iron work! Thanks Mike & Aaron! Lee
Great to see Wade. Thanks for sharing. No fighting guys!
That was a cool one! Drag line is awesome.
old and new working side by side ,,,magnificent,,,great show boys 🚜
I think I have a name for your Drag Line. "Wild Thing". When you operate it, things get a bit Wild!!!!
Just a thought ? Outside looking in .
You said something about how the lot looked when you where tracking behind it .
Have you thought about building one of those shipping container buildings ?
Lockable dry storage and more roof space for your growing fleet !!!
No stay tuned
Not O n the road Mike! 🤣
Worked for an irrigation district in California in the 70's I recall driving the 7 ton dump trucks down the canal banks and letting the dragline man fill up the truck while I set in it. They had to clean the canals out ever so often. He always loaded us from behind and while the bucket swooped up behind me, that got my nerve's riled up a bit, I was afraid the cable might break. The old boy who operated it was a master at it for sure . Have a good one thanks.
Good morning sunshine! Another great video! Nice to have such good friends with a mill! Lol much love from Henderson Ga
playing in the mud always looks like fun. getting better on the dragline keep going.
Great video guy's. I always enjoy watching you fellas do the day to day. With all the jokes and fun y'all have it's really kind of hard to call that work isn't it? Great video Mike take care yall
Dredging out that boat ramp ,cleaned that area up nicely, listening to the dragline running and moving was nice, bringing back the old ways.Aaron did great job setting up that pad.your getting better at working the dragline, other than that mess you made dumping the bucket.LOL.great video as always 👍👍👍😎😎😎
Defiantly made for great viewing guys, kind'a nice to see old verses new working together. Safe travels. Ken.
Yes Mike your getting better on the dragline
That’s a first seeing one working. Interesting ❤
Great video glad to see logger wade made a video the other day telling what was going on with him thanks for sharing
Mike and Aaron another great video! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Great video, you and Aaron did a great job , see on the next one
Mike the more seat time in that dragline, the better you’ll get. You are doing great on casting that bucket out into the pond, just need to get the timing right on dumping the bucket. Great job. Watching from Canada 🇨🇦. Merry Christmas to you and yours, and to MBTS, NYA and theirs! 🎅 🎄
Nice job Aaron & Mike. What a fantastic find in that JLG. Logger Wade helluva good friend to have close. Thanks for all your videos.
That guy has a perfect playground! What a fun spot to work and play.
you're getting beter every thorw.
Howdy Mr. Dirt, You did a great job splashing mud! At least you didn't go swimming! Fun video! Thumbs up! Stay safe. Jim
Well DP I got two thing to add : 1- You've prob never watched a video of mine but i'm primarily a boat guy and would love to see a boat tour of the pond . I think that'd be pretty neat(even if you just put a camera on aaron and made him paddle that little fishn boat ha ha ha
2- Ya pretty near lost your worlds biggest fishn hook(dragline bucket) in that tree! Good thing yall got the torque better than Lets Dig!! ha ha ha Keep up the good work boys!
Good job guys
Great fun job video thanks Mike and Aron the 210 needed water wings
MAN BEHIND THE SCENES RULES! 😂
MBTS is great crazy help, great to have around. The old drag line takes a lot of coordination lot of mind control with all of those leavers. Thanks for the video
Nice job fixing the trailer came out good👍
Thank you for showing what all the levers do on the dragline I think it’s awesome for you to explain what they do. Love your videos.
Thanks for watching
Good job
I will like when you get a full bucket of mud or dirt draglinw is a art
I think the load\dump cable is still too short, mud is falling out the back of scoop.
Rectify that and you’ll go heaps better 😊
Thankyou for sharing. 😊😊
Great video. Good job to use the grade control
Exactly what I was thinking. When you can’t see the bottom it’s great when the machine can “see” it for you.
The price of lumber you should have done the hole trailer. Lol 😆 🤣 😂
It is nice to have great friends.
I know you will pay it back in the long run.
Really enjoyed this episode. All the best work going on there. You guys make a great team & your skills are so amazing to watch. Plus you used my favorite background music with the cowbell!! Love that!!
Thanks
Another interesting project completed. Since this is your neighbor I hope you guys are allowed to take some fishing time there after all the work.
Nice to see your friend and mucks mate is back on RUclips Mr logger wade 👍 👌 👏 welcome back 🙏
Love the old drag. Reminds me of when i had one to operate on 3rd shelf of quarry. Slow and rough but nothing else can do all that it can. Dont worry about pushing the limits. Just dont sink....
You got the right wood for the job there Mike. The steel on the trailer will rust away before that stuff rots.
Good video!
