  • A cool little video demonstrating my 4 atomic watches getting perfectly in sync after a successful reception after being manually set to the wrong time and date.
    The watches are 1xGW-6900 and 3xGW-9400

    Superb, Ive just got a used GW5610 square with this feature for £50, I live in the U.K. where the signal is strong. The technology is great. As much as I like my mechanical watches, these can't be beaten as beater, fit for purpose timepieces. Approved now for use by NASA, who needs an Omega 'Man in the Moon' now haha. Great video!

    One note, if you are not in range of the atomic clock radio transmission there are smartphone apps that can be used to sync the watch. I have a Casio Wave Ceptor and have used the Android app successfully. The app syncs the watch to the phone time, but there's also an app to sync the phone to atomic time, so there's a fix for no radio reception by the watch.

      In the US use the WWVB Emulator app. There's also a version for Japan timezones called JJY Emulator. Those run on Android and use the phone speaker to sync the watch to the phone's time. On Android you can use the ClockSync app to sync the phone time to atomic time. There are also apps for iPhones but I don't know the names.

      The quickest a watch can sync is 2 minutes as that is how long it takes for the atomic clock to send all the information, as it works like someone is telling you:
      The year is ...
      The month is....
      The date is....
      The hour is ....
      Etc.

    i just tried this with 3 of my solar atomics (GW6900, GW-M500A/M530A) the GW-M500A/530A both synced together but 1 is 1.5s faster than the other. the GW-6900 finished sooner so it has a faster time of 15s ahead of the other pair. In the end all 3 have different times which is really odd. Not sure why there would be such a large difference in time even though in your video all 4 of your started out different yet synced together in the end.

I got the rangeman to replace my riseman GW9200 because that watch had a problem with some of the LCD segments fading only after about 1year of use. Not sure why that happen and Casio just replaced the watch with the G9300. Also what's really strange is I have a Protrek prw 1500 and that has developed the same issue with the LCD. Not sure why this has happen but that watch is under warranty and going back for repair for the 2nd time for the same issue! I hope the mudman and rangeman don't suffer from this LCD corruption fading segments etc.

      @@WatchGeekZnam da je ovo stari post ali otkrio sam jednu foru za bolji signal kod multiband sinkronizacije. Puno je bolji prijem ako se sat stavi kod prozora tako da mu je stražnja strana okrenuta prema gore, lice sata da bude dolje a narukvica zavezana kao da se nosi na ruci. Vjerojatno je tako djeluje kao antena i jako poboljšava prijem.

      +Zarul Khaliff I used it on one of my watches, the problem is that the home time has to be selected as Japan, so the world time function is off, and if you switch the time zone back to your time, the watch deletes the RCVD symbol

    Does anybody get the message "GET" after the synchronization is complete?

    • @RockyBoltzano
      @RockyBoltzano 5 лет назад

      Yes, I do get the "GET" message, however, my watch is just a basic Wave Ceptor, not a G-Shock like these in the video.

    I hate atomic.......No signal anywhere, what's the point!!!? I appreciate the fact they atleast put an "off" function to turn atomic off.......but it's just kinda stupid......not even 1 signal bar.......really thinking about taking this watch back!

      +Sajith Wijekoon I don't think it's possible since you are too far away from any of the towers

    • @vasantha0771

      Sajith Wijekoon U can use JJY SIMULATOR

    • @sajithwijekoon1313

      Vasantha 07 What is JJY SIMULATOR?

    • @WatchGeek
      @WatchGeek  6 лет назад

      JJY simulator simulates the signal from the Japanese atomic clock making it possible for an atomic reception watch to sync using your phone. The bad thing is that the watch has to be set to TOKYO as the home time zone meaning the world times will be wrong

    • @vasantha0771
      @vasantha0771 6 лет назад

      Watch Geek After that can we change the world time

    why did you buy three rangemans?

    • @WatchGeek
      @WatchGeek  6 лет назад

      They were on a clearance sale so the price was too good to NOT buy them

    Whot about Australia do you think they will work

    • @WatchGeek
      @WatchGeek  6 лет назад

      I think in northern parts they might catch Japanese tower but I doubt it will be reliable, but luckily ghat is why you have GPS and Bluetooth watches
      I'll be making a giveaway of a GShock watch when I reach 10.000 subs, which should be in about 2-3 weeks so make sure to subscribe and follow the videos to see how to participate 👍

    Im in Florida and my watch is having a hard time picking up the signal

    • @WatchGeek
      @WatchGeek  7 лет назад +1

      You should check the coverage map for your radio tower and see if you are within reach, but even if you are, some locations can have trouble getting signal due to different factors (buildings, power lines, mountains etc.)

    • @RagingBad
      @RagingBad 7 лет назад

      Thanks, the tower in the US is located in Colorado, tonight I'll point the watch on that direction and see what happens

    • @WatchGeek
      @WatchGeek  7 лет назад

      +maximus10463 according to the map you should be able to get it to sync, you are far, but still within reach, try different positions in your house or apartment. Mine syncs better in a room pointing in the opposite direction to the tower, so I guess it depends on many factors
