A central figure in Big Love: The Life and Teachings of Lama Yeshe, Max Mathews aka "Mummy Max" shares spontaneous and intimate stories of her timeless relationship with Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche and how she provided unconditional and essential support for the lamas' Western Dharma project as envisioned by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. This interview was filmed in July, 2020 in Santa Fe, New Mexico with images from Big Love.

In 1976 I came to Kathmandu and was blessed to spend time with Lama Yeshe. I never forget. I was mistaken for you in New York and in India but we never met. My name was Max...and I came from Pittsburgh on a journey. Thank you🙏🏾
