Creating this video covering the evolution of gaming from 1975 to 2021 was a very personal experience for me. It allowed me to re-discover every game I ever played since I started gaming at just 5 years old, including an ancient Atari 2600 cartridge system which most of you have probably never even seen.
If you’re an older gamer like me, maybe you can relate when you watch the video? It stirred up endless fond memories and emotions bringing me back to a time when life was just all about having fun!
Remembering every game hidden in the recesses of my 40 year old memory, was such a deeply gratifying experience, that I had no choice but to include them all. This resulted in the length of the video being far longer than originally intended!
The gaming industry is on a path to accrue well over $170 billion in revenue in the year 2020 alone. This significantly surpasses both the movie AND music industries combined. Whether you game on a $50 mobile phone, or a cutting edge $5K PC, it’s safe to say that gaming is now a fulfilling and enjoyable part of everyone’s lives.
