Thank you so much for this. It's pretty fast, but cool overview of everything. I didn't ever start using Krita until yesterday with a new graphic tablet (which also I have never used before until yesterday) and I was pretty lost. Being able to use layers does change things and although I did use Adobe Illustrator in school before with a conventional mouse, I was never really good at drawing and it was a short course, of which I have forgotten everything. Now i don't feel as lost after watching this. I'll have to watch it again a couple dozen more times to get it solidified though

This was great! Thank you! If anyone is wondering about the Tool Options and can't find the Warp, Perspective, etc options, make sure you first click Control T or select the Transform tool on the Tool menu on the left to be able to see them. It took me a bit to figure that out.

Nice tutorial. I was a pretty regular user of Gimp until I discovered Blender and spend most of my time playing in a 3D environment. I now have a need to use painting software again, so I had a look at what was available in the software manager on my Linux box. I noticed Krita comes pre-installed and ready to go, which got me thinking. Why would Ubuntu drop Gimp as the default graphics package and replace it with Krita, unless their devs think it a better choice. I decided to try it out since I didn't need to install anything and at the same time I downloaded Gimp to try the two side by side for comparison. I am not trying to start a "software A is better than software B" argument because at the end of the day they are both tools that allow users to do pretty much the same thing. What I will say that in my case I found it far easier to get my Wacom Intuos BT S tablet set up get the pen pressure working properly in Krita because for some reason I couldn't seem to get things working as well in Gimp. It's also far easier in my mind to simply click an icon on the tool bar to turn the pen pressure on and off than mess with checking and unchecking several boxes.
I guess having prior experience with Gimp (no tablet, mouse only) and the fundamentals of digital painting and image manipulation will mean the learning curve of Krita won't be very steep once I get to terms with the UI. Only very early days, but already I'm impressed at how intuitive it is to use.
I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos.

It's hard to knock GIMP-we've gotten, and continue to get, a lot out of that program; including GTK. That said, I like Krita because it combines the best features of GIMP and Inkscape into a single package, with great support for my Wacom. It's even got an animation toolkit. Best of all, it doesn't break compatibility, within reason, with either of them-it's easy to export. This stuff is such a time saver.

I'm looking for a way to clean up/hide the previous sketch line of my work.
I already click on the layer's eyes to hide the visibility, but all it does is reduce the capacity when I seek to clear/hide the previous line sketches. I already searched Tutorial for this, but they either don't exist, or they are too long. For some reason, every time I turn visibility off on the top layer, my work disappeared along with the rest of the process, so I'm not sure why any help.
