I had a male named bambam .I had him put down just shy of his 17th birthday.im a guy and was 60 I'm not ashamed to say I cryd like a baby when I had em put down.the love your pets show back to you is 10fold they show for you .pets are truly family till the very end and still will be till our passing.i have his ashes at home and are going to be mixed with mine and spread from my house to my pond were we used to take walks and go fish together.i can truly say if it wasn't for the GOOD LORD there for me don't think I could have coped .THANK YOU AGAIN LORD LOVE SO MUCH.please take care of my little fishing buddy.he was and is so special thank you for the opportunity to love him.
I can so relate to this, I'm male, 45 My Paddy was around 5 when she arrived around 2012. Sadly she was hit by a car 3 days ago and nothing could be done for her. The only option was to have her put to sleep and I am absolutely gutted. She gave me so much joy, love and laughs. Sleep well my special friend, my little shadow! :0(
My little pumpkin sleeps all the time, she’s also too sensitive, sometimes gets way too jealous, but among all I would say that she’s the sweetest dog I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I mean sometimes I just feel like she must be a reincarnation just how properly she behaves (smg that came naturally I guess), how sweet, relaxed, chill, carrying and thoughtful she is 😍❤️
They are very sensitive and get jealous easy as they are incredibly loyal. My girl is also by far the most intelligent and loving dog I’ve had or been around for a length of time and it’s not close.
Cynthia X are the Yorkshire capable to stay home alone 8 hours? Because I'm planning to have one and I have an office work you know. What do you think based on your experience? Thanks
My Yorkie is 6 years young and she should be put in the world records for smartest. lol. she knows every word in the english language and also some sign language. I am so glad that we picked each other because she has been my best friend in life. I have already decided should she have some health issues in life that I will not let her suffer a minute. I know because I have already prayed that should Lucy leave this life before me that Jesus will be on the other side with her in arms waiting for me. Should I leave her first she has been left in my will to take care of her needs with a special person that also loves her. Enjoy life because it is very short. Blessings and stay safe everyone.
My last Yorkie passed away at 17 after having diabetes for 9yrs. My other one was 15. Biggest expense is dental. A basic clean for one NZ$500. I now have Ella and Annie (yorkies) Keep me fit and active. They are certainly not lap dogs. I know when Ella's not feeling herself as she likes lots of cuddles!
My girl was only like 1.5lb when we got her so we didn’t want to sleep with her in fear of crushing her. We also thought it would be good crate training. She literally cried for 4-5 months every single night, and often. We had enough and in to bed she came. She wouldn’t even remotely consider sleeping anywhere but right next to me. Like right now :)
I have mum and daughter and they mean so much I bont no what I would do with out them mumi got after my son died then I let her have a litter to show my daughter something after losing her brother then I kept one but they are my baby's iwill not let any body say anything about the breed its how you bring them up
How to correctly train them to spot. My friend got one. She is losing temper everyday for her dog making accidents. She wants to give up. And other people are not willing to adopt when knowing it doesn’t using toilet at the right place. Even the puppy is just 6month. It’s heartbreaking and I can’t really take the responsibility now.
My yorkshire terrier does the same, but she is 15 years old. She used to be super active until a couple of years ago. When she was about 10 years old people still used to ask me if she was a puppy, because of her lively character.
My Yorkie Joe is about 17 now. He's mostly blind and half deaf. He sleeps about 21 hours a day... When he goes out to pee and poo he does his business and wants right back inside. He's such a good boy, the light of my life.

Just like other dogs they can kill and catch smaller animals, yorkies were bred to catch rats. I saw some videos that these dogs that are trained for catching rats doesn't really eat rats when they are working, they just kill them, and catch another one again.
They used to be bigger when they were used in mills in Britain to kill small rodents. Their cute puppy look at adulthood won the hearts of royalty and they became house/lap dogs and were bred smaller (which is actually a huge issue today as everyone wants a tiny York burn don’t understand the ugly side of this breeding)
My wife has had her yorkie for about 11-12 years. Here recently he started to not be able to walk up the stairs. He acts like his legs won't let him. He's still able to stand on his back legs at the couch but he's not able to jump up as easy anymore. Is it possible that he's developed the condition with his knees or could it be something else?
I just became a Yorkie mother since adopting a seven year old Yorkie. He’s fantastic so far. I don’t know how I lived this long without one!
How wonderful that you adopted. I adore my 2. I live alone and never feel lonely. The best medicine ever.
If I wasn’t scared of dogs and I was a dog person A Yorkshire Terrier would be my favourite dog breed
my jeff died 3 wks ago he was 16.2 he was much more than a dog. I still look down before taking a step to see where he is....yorkies are great!
They’re the best I had to put my Nash down on Monday it broke my heart but his quality of life wasn’t there anymore he was 15

Adam eu my 1 and a half year old mastiff lab pointer mix is the same. I’m getting a yorkie puppy next month so that’s why I’m watching this
Mine can literally go on 10 mile walks no problem, sleep for an hour and do it again. Ready to go anytime of day or night. She’s only 4lbs too.
My yorkie would go crazy with only 30 minutes of exercise. But she is still a puppy lol
I want a dog like that 😭😭😭

Can Yorkshire terrier live in tropical country?
Mine hates the heat - even just above 22-23 degrees centigrade she slows down and becomes lethargic. She’s super lively when it’s cool outside.
Energetic please
My cousin,s yokie died at age 12 my cousins are adults not kids! I’m going to miss her her name is daisy they are the twins

Yorkshire Terriers are not part of the Terrier group, they actually are part of the Toy group. Although they are true Terriers.
