This road is a lot of fun! Went through it with my Subaru Crosstrek a few years ago. Saw all sorts of vehicles, including a Chevy Astro van, etc doing the road. I like how it’s just rough enough to keep things fun and exciting but it’s not brutal that you’d need a major off road rig. Only gripe is a lot areas are truly one lane and can be a pain with two way traffic. Awesome video and I suggest anyone giving the road a try if they get the opportunity!
This was extremely useful. I was looking for a “time to complete” and you nailed it. Also saved me a ton of time by mentioning nearby gas pricing. I noticed you drove it from the north, and some areas very much seem narrow enough to be single wide…is it intended to be south-bound only?
Some areas are single wide but it is not intended to be southbound only. Northbound travelers will experience steeper grades vice southbound travelers. Check out the elevation gain on the AllTrails map linked in the description. Enjoy!
It reminds me my bicycle ride through Big Sur. It's interesting see it from this angle. I can see that there is so much in this area than what you can see from the Pacific highway 1 road. 👍
@@NCGTravel I definitely will at some point but I'm from Florida. I did solo bike tour from Monterey to San Louis Obispo through Big Sur. If you're interested check out my ride, it's one of most popular videos on my channel. Have a great day.
i don’t believe it’s allowed and most of the road is narrow and has some residential traffic. try researching prewitt ridge campground, that might be a possibility

Any techy stuff in the trails? Planning on going this weekend with the fam in 22 Tacoma OR bone stock 😅
You'll be fine going stock 😂 anything remotely techy can be avoided, it's a real easy trail
Impressive stuff….
Thank you 🙏

Is it available for Rzr or canams?
You should be good! I've never seen any restrictions signs. I've seen bicycles and even a street legal/registered trike on the trail.

agreed, there's so much to explore. there are people who bike this trail as well, you should check it out next time you visit!

Do I have to get special permissions to go on this trail or is it always open to everyone
It’s open to all
It is closed due to fire/winter damage.
Is it possible to stay overnight on this trail with a truck bed camper setup?

Lol
That road is NOT "off-roading." It is a fire road level travel, at best.
Signed,
Regular traveler of that easy going drive
