Love the video. I have a 1976 XLCH, Blue. 6k Miles. Was my dad's first Harley, he bought it brand new. I watched him ride it in the 80s and 90s and to me, thats what a motorcycle should look and sound like. Love the pulling power of the old iron 1000cc. Will have this bike in my garage for the rest of my life.
I've got an emotional connection with this bike too. Was owned by a friend from high school that bought it new back in the day. His widow sold it to me and I'll keep her till my end. Love this bike!
I love my 76 cast iron sportster. The build doesn't have any more than 500 miles on it. When I get done with the break in miles on my shovelhead, I'm turning my attention back to the the 76 sportster.
After Nam the first bike I got was a 1976 Sportster by AMF.. I basically redid the whole bike took off the gas tank and the fenders stripped them down painted everything Black lacquer paint with "6" coats of clear.. Changed out the whole front end new speedometer the other one from the sun was destroyed heat cracked.. put lightweight magnesium rims on it..New S&S carburetor.. changed out the seat and the exhaust.. after the paint cured I put white stickers that said Harley-Davidson.. on both sides To me the AMF look was a major turnoff.. I did it all the work myself and the parts were really not that expensive in 1976-77.. I was the lead mechanic at the Harley-Davidson dealership and my buddy John..RIP Brother.. now in my garage I have seven different Harley-Davidsons all different years..The before and after picture you would never know that it was built by AMF..👉🏻🛵💨

Got yourself a nice scooter there,
Thank you!
Love the bike
Are those factory or aftermarket saddlebags?
I got the saddlebags from Amazon for $50. I have another set on my Himalayan. They work very well.
