    You definitely have room for rabbits. All you need is one buck (male rabbit), and two does (female rabbits). Plus, you can use their poop directly into the garden.

    Glad you made this video. I've been wondering how the hydroponic plants were doing. Also, when chicken go broody and you try to take their eggs, they puff out their feathers too and make a scary, growling sound to try to keep you from getting the eggs. 😂. Thanks for sharing

    Those little button quail are so cute! I like the little wooden holder you keep the eggs in too, also very cute.
    I don't always need videos to be informative, honestly my favorite videos are the garden tours. I'm always happy for someone to show me what they're growing. I actually found your channel because of a garden tour you did a couple years ago for another channel, I don't even remember what it was named now but I ran across it searching for backyard garden ideas. Its also nice to just feel like you're hanging out with a neighbor or something. :)

    I've been thinking about raising quail for about a year but I had never eaten them. So, I saw some at the local market and bought them. They were so easy to cook & tasted fantastic. Just need to start buying my equipment.

    Hey there! Glad to see you! So glad you touched on the quail, specifically the indoor crew. Been talking to my husband about going the quail route while we figure out a work around on the HOA tip. 🤣🤪. Keep it coming. That content is so very helpful! Thrilled to see a slicer in the letpot. I pulled out an old (10year😩) Aero Garden in had in the back of a closet. 🙃🤪 Got it cleaned up and started salad greens and kale so far. I started a bush bean plant but no dice on that. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I may start that over by sprouting the bean first. I just got some determinate tomato seeds. I’ll try them starting tomorrow. Thank you for sharing!!! And yes, sometimes we just be looking to hang out! 🤗 Blessings!💜

    We got rabbits 2 years ago. We had an amazing garden last year. All we used was a small amount if wood ash and bunny poop. I processed several a couple of months ago. Wasn't sure I could do it. I done mine justice the teal girl did. Zero noise from them when they were killed. It was quick. And a very easy process. We have chickens. But I am considering quail too.

  • @txLALA
    @txLALA 8 месяцев назад +2

    I love that the quail don’t need a lot of space. I thought I wanted chickens, but that might be the way to go because my yard is so small. Just need to figure out a safe space for them because they seem more defenseless than chickens being so small.

    • @YellowDoorUrbanHomestead
      @YellowDoorUrbanHomestead  8 месяцев назад

      Hey Lala! O yeah. Perfect for urban growers. O ok, quail would be a great substitute in my opinion. I gotcha. Hopefully you can find something that suits you. They are sustainable and fun!

    Hi Asia,
    How do you get your quail to lay in winter and without access to sunlight? We are starting our adventure with quail (inspired by you 😊) and I’m wondering if it will work, since I plan on keeping them indoors.

    • @YellowDoorUrbanHomestead
      @YellowDoorUrbanHomestead  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi! Mine were inside so I am only making assumption here lol that they kept laying because it was still warm inside. I didn’t supplement any light for them. Good luck getting started on your quail adventure!

  • @sealskin5221

    Dumb question here.😊 The males lay too? Why do you have them?

    • @YellowDoorUrbanHomestead
      @YellowDoorUrbanHomestead  8 месяцев назад

      Not a dumb question at all. No the males do not lay. I have them to fertilize the eggs so I can continue to hatch more quail. If there is no male present the eggs will only be good for eating.

  • @JustShanisha

    I don't understand why you keep the eggs on the countertop and not in the refrigerator.

    • @YellowDoorUrbanHomestead
      @YellowDoorUrbanHomestead  8 месяцев назад

      Fresh eggs have bloom on them so they don’t have to be refrigerated unless they are washed.
