I think it would be cool that if you have the outdoorsman trait or a high level in foraging you get a rough estimation of time. It would round to the nearest hour. For example, if it was 6:20 it would say 6:00
Eating dandelions was a lot more popular before our time, especially in the south. Its rich in antioxidants and is used in things like teas, salads, soups and wine!

Dandelions are actually good for you. They have been used medicinally for a very long time and traditionally they have been used as a diuretic and sometimes laxative. Also the roots have been used to treat issues with kidneys , liver and gallbladder. Dandelions may also help manage diabetes and can help lower fasting blood glucose levels. So your not actually as crazy as you think

That was pretty cool. You didnt need much, just enough zombie kills to get the cloth needed for bandages and building and crafting. The rest you could get all by yourself without worrying about hordes and generators and mechanics and learning to hotwire etc. Very chill way to survive for a long time. Minimal danger, you may not have a fancy house with a generator powered oven and king sized bed, but you are comfortable and have your needs met. That depression trait was probably the biggest annoyance to deal with because of limited options to cure it but you found a way to cheese it easy enough. And hey, all the fish and broccoli you can eat! :p

All your ancestors ate dandelions, actually nice in a salad and easy to find, very nutitous too. Try them sometime, pick the leafs before they have flowered or they taste bitter!
I really enjoyed this. One thing though, it would be nice if you set up the challenge in the game settings more then going "I'm not allowed to do xyz". There's a lot of stuff you can adjust to get a different game. As for a suggesting, I think you should do a series called "100 Days As...." (or something) and then do a video for each occupation where you try to survive for 100 days with the strengths and weaknesses of that occupation. Some of them will be easier then others but I can also see some being a real challenge. And you could always spice things up with negative traits. I know there's mods that adds more occupations and i also think there's one that matches occupation with a logical starting point. Both would probably make it more fun. Anyway, hope to see more PZ content, have a like and a comment!
you can get superb survivors, it adds NPC's which used to be in the game but were removed, it works pretty well except they don't really register zombies are going to hurt them so they'll stand there to reload/complete actions so you gotta watch em and protect em or get a lot of them and expect casualties.
The zombie in the outhouse did not spawn in front of you.... it was out of your peripheral vision until you entered past the door frame as it was standing around in the corner.
Logs are such a bitch to transport over any distance; roping them together is a huge pain in the ass, since 4 logs nearly max you out on weight, you have to have basically nothing on you (Axes are heavy, rope is heavy, clothes are kinda heavy, it can add up to 14 easily sometimes; 4 logs are 36 for reference, you can only hold 50kg ever). Unroping them is clunky too, sometimes they just don’t unrope because you’re over encumbered, instead of unroping on the floor (Why do they need to be in my inventory to unrope)
You would think it easier just to take the ropes off the logs and toss them on the ground, why would you put the rope back in your inventory? They weight quite a bit on their own.
I got bored once. Grabbed like the essential tools I needed. And 20 boxes of nails. I hopped in my car and drove off. I ended up building a pretty cool spot in the woods somewhat close to rosewood/march ridge. It was pretty cool. It took me 2 ingame months to have a pretty cool outpost.
Great video! What’s the screaming clip from you used when you had to return to fishing again. I think I’ve heard it before but racking my brain trying to remember. Keep up the good work!
How about spending 100 days being dedicated to your job as a mechanic? Can't understand why your co-workers aren't showing up to the auto shop for work? Do you go to work every day and do your best to fix up all the nice vehicles around town for a hefty commission? Do you like being self taught? Then being a Mechanic in PZ might be for you! Take the INITIATIVE today, and hopefully one day, you will actually own your own body shop xD
Honestly that might convince me to play the game. Since I'm a massive pussy when it comes to games like this but have a strong liking for cars and specialize on vehicular man slaughter when it is a feature in the game
That's not how spawns work in Zomboid Zombies inside a building only spawn after you have peeked inside it (through a window, door, burnt wall, etc), you can't lure them out with noise because the zombies haven't spawned, and in the context of entering a cabin without windows, the zombies pretty much spawn as soon as you enter the cabin, which means that in fact, THE ZOMBIES SPAWN RIGHT ON TOP OF YOU
I'm not gonna spam this like some people do (day X of asking Y to play Z) but I think you would really like the game Cataclysm. Either DDA for a somewhat Zomboid-style experience or BN for something more casual. I don't think it'll necessarily make as good content as Zomboid, but, you know, assuming you actually like playing PZ outside of videos. It's a lot more complex at first, though, comes with being a roguelike that's been in development for over a decade - but there's much more depth to crafting and construction. This same wilderness start could end with you jury-rigging a moped from scrap parts, building a blacksmithing forge and making yourself a proper sword and armor, making a smoker to preserve wild game, etc. Just make sure you turn the default tileset on, the ASCII is not friendly.
7:29 You should understand that zombies are not spawning directly on top of you when this happens. The zombie is already there. Your character just does not perceive them because they are out of view. The zombie is not in your characters field of vision until after you walk into the building. I've hear you say this multiple times, but that's simply not what's happening.

I’d be interested in a rimworld-like mod, with research trees and settlers etc. Having no previous infrastructure is cool
you can get superb survivors, it adds NPC's which used to be in the game but were removed, it works pretty well except they don't really register zombies are going to hurt them so they'll stand there to reload/complete actions so you gotta watch em and protect em or get a lot of them and expect casualties.
The zombie in the outhouse did not spawn in front of you.... it was out of your peripheral vision until you entered past the door frame as it was standing around in the corner.
Who asked
Living in the wilderness is actually easier than in the city/town.
Yep and he cheated anyways 21:23 look at the bottom of the menu
And that my children, is how cities are founded.
Very daunting project but a lot of fun to work on in the end
Dandelion salad is pretty popular of times of extreme poverty or resource scarcity, think Great Depression or the home front during WW2.
YES i wanted someone to do something like this
You should try this again but with more mods, could be interesting. alternatively try this again when build 42 comes out
11:27 perfectly timed bonks with the music
Kinda creepy how the zombs just gather on the other side of the river and stare like that..
Interesting that you decided to do this without the stone tools or sheet backpack mods,
I highly respect it.
Great video! What’s the screaming clip from you used when you had to return to fishing again. I think I’ve heard it before but racking my brain trying to remember. Keep up the good work!
It's from a porn clip, a black guy having a screaming orgasm lol
I like doing this but with a few mods loike "wooden dowels", "chip a stone", meat smoking and craftable saw.
Its funny that "barefoot you cut with everything on the forest" bc I walk barefoot in the Middle of the forest and belive me Its not bad
not bad at all
I also suggest doing this again when the crafting stations are introduced!
15:10 i fucking love you my fitness 7 strenght 9 character is at the border of turning into a discord mod that'll really help
This is something I'd love to try one day 😌🙏
How about spending 100 days being dedicated to your job as a mechanic? Can't understand why your co-workers aren't showing up to the auto shop for work? Do you go to work every day and do your best to fix up all the nice vehicles around town for a hefty commission? Do you like being self taught? Then being a Mechanic in PZ might be for you! Take the INITIATIVE today, and hopefully one day, you will actually own your own body shop xD
Honestly that might convince me to play the game. Since I'm a massive pussy when it comes to games like this but have a strong liking for cars and specialize on vehicular man slaughter when it is a feature in the game
survive 100 days within the Louisville hospital
I'd really like to see you Tackle Darkest Dungeon. i think you'd be great at it too, since it is also Soul Crushingly hard.
7:25 He didn't spawn in front of you, the game wasn't rendering it because in your vision you technically couldn't see it.
Ya he also cheated the hole time lol 21:23 look at his left click menu
That's not how spawns work in Zomboid
Zombies inside a building only spawn after you have peeked inside it (through a window, door, burnt wall, etc), you can't lure them out with noise because the zombies haven't spawned, and in the context of entering a cabin without windows, the zombies pretty much spawn as soon as you enter the cabin, which means that in fact, THE ZOMBIES SPAWN RIGHT ON TOP OF YOU
Sticks and stones may break my bones but a Colt 19-
This video is awesome, witty and funny, we need more people to see this is and sub!
My man refuses to have .01 pound wood and metal there basically needed because logs are stupidly heavy to carry

You should understand that zombies are not spawning directly on top of you when this happens. The zombie is already there. Your character just does not perceive them because they are out of view. The zombie is not in your characters field of vision until after you walk into the building.
I've hear you say this multiple times, but that's simply not what's happening.
That's not how spawns work in Zomboid you dummie

Great video man, I love how you sometimes sound so passive aggressive without even meaning to do so. reminds me of my art teacher
Incorrect, I have not only step 5 feet out of the starting house. I've explored every city and have damn near 1000 hours in this game.
