41, screaming for 2 decades, sang a whole ass set before this song, and yet he still sounded incredible.

@fancythebold true but if you listen to the “One More Light” tours his voice wasn’t as powerful as before. He was still great but you can tell a difference from lets say 2014 tours and 2017 tours
The fact that almost 20 years into their career, Chester still had the voice to perform all those scringing (scream singing) songs live means that Chester had great vocal technique. He never really damaged his vocal chords which was amazing really. Those in 2017 that got to see LP live for the last time were so lucky. North America never got the chance.
You can tell he's struggling to get through the song yet he still sounded awesome... RIP Legend. He's up touring in heaven now.

He struggles bc he messed up his vocals all those years from 2000-2012 bc of all the screaming, his vocals werent meant for screaming so he messed his vocals up BADLY
That's why their style in singing changed from playing hard music to polish music if it makes sense

Grita muy forzado, no lo hace con la misma facilidad, compara esta versión con la de 2004 y verás, se nota que su voz está dañada, y aún así la gente le seguía exigiendo que cantara Nu-Metal, desde A Thousand Suns hasta One More Light hizo música más limpia, creo que eso estuvo bien, era mejor para su voz, igual, ya no gritará nunca más.

Heflox si has visionado alguno de sus conciertos del 2015, teniendo chester 39, verás que es enorme la diferencia a la hora de cantar. Dudo que en un par años se pierda tanta habilidad vocal. Yo veo que su principal problema es su capacidad pulmonar (parece que le falta aire todo el tiempo) y puede que esto se deba a su falta de forma, que es evidente que estaba muy desmejorado e este último año.

I love chester's live performance. He sang from the inside perfectly live even after 40 mins of screaming and jumping. If the tracklist of FTI was play early on the concert, chester would perform it better imo. Also, his voice crack in "throw it all away" is a testament of how his scream was 100% legit. No gimmicky voice, no cheat scream. Just raw high notes from 41 year old rock singer. RIP chester.

I think it is no because of the screaming. I think it`s from the drugs he took and he`s alcoholic problems he had for many years. Chester self said that he is surprised that he can TALK... But even in 2017 there were a lot of great performances from him. Where he still hit the note perfectly :)

Bro look at bands like Metallica and others who are way older and still performing. All I hear in Chester voice is pain he was literally down and on the edge at that point of his life. He literally said it in his last interviews he doesn’t wanna do anything anymore nothing excites him and the result is depression that’s what was affecting him and his performance

In 2017 they did a couple shows ending with Faint instead of Bleed It Out like in the old days and he was pushing himself %100 at the end of those shows. After his suicide I realized why he was pushing that hard

Chester’s vocals, his presence , his energy. And the band in general was just perfect back then
I also agree Rock am 2004 was one of their best performances. But in a way I still think Chester sounded great in this. Hell, you go and scream for almost 20 years and then try to sing a song this high in notes. Even though his voice was wearing down he always found a way to sound great.
