i have been looking for a good coloring tutorial for a long time and i just stumbled on this video and i am so grateful that this is a clear, well made, organized tutorial AND you provided files so that viewers can follow along. You are actually so wonderful for this, I can not thank you enough. Having the exact same file so I can follow along with you is SO helpful. +your art is super pretty
I know this was made a year ago but this is so helpful. You explain things so well and for me, you go at this perfect pace that helps me understand things. I'm still a beginner at digital art but after watching this tutorial my art has improved so much. As of now, you are sincerely one of my idols in art and one of the reasons I will push myself to keep drawing. Even though you have around 8k subs now, I think you deserve atlest 50k or 100k because this is actually just so helpful. I used the link you provided and after watching the whole thing I was surprised at how much knowledge was given in the short amount of time and I was pretty happy with the results. So umm yehh, tysm! Also your voice is really calming and its irrelevant but your really pretty lmao.
Thank you so much for this! I haven't drawn digitally in years and felt really lost how to tackle the cooling process and which brushes to use. These steps are really simple and clear and give me a good direction to work with. Very helpful!
Im struggling to find a style for myself on how to color ^^ and i think this is gonna help me a lot next time i draw thank you very much....I really needed that especially recently
Can you share what settings you use for your brushes? I tried to sneak peak during speed paint but not sure how you modified "advanced settings". Thanks!
Thanks for the tutorial! I don't know if you would read this but I'm having trouble shading with different colors, you know like instead of using just one color for the shadows using more and I really want to know how to do that, I've seen many videos or speed paints and you actually help me with this tutorial a lot so it would be great to see more tutorials from you :3
Aww no problem at all!! Glad it was helpful ; w ;/ As for color/color theory related tutorials- there's actually quite a few good ones on youtube already: ruclips.net/video/v8jScQhDcNw/видео.html (I personally like this one) But honestly, I'm not where near an expert on this topic lmao. My biggest tip would to study artists that you like and they way they use colors, cause you can learn a lot from them! But as for myself I usually just shift the hue of the shadow color a bit, and airbrush its complimentary color faintly. A lot of the color variety in my drawings come from the adjustment stage too so I definitely have a lot more to learn aha.
Hello, I'm a beginner in paint tool sai & digital drawing, would you mind helping me with some basic doubts? How do you usually divide your layers? And how do you put your drawing in two parts like in 6:34?( the whole drawing and the part that you're working on)
Hello! I usually divide my layers by different sections of a drawing (like: skin, hair, different pieces of clothing, whites of the eye, actual eye, etc) The most important thing to remember to really take advantage of the layer system is making sure that the sections aren't touching each other on the same layer. As for the little preview window, I believe you can create that by going to View>New and it will create a duplicate of your current drawing. Hope that helps! ^^
Hi I'm kind of new on digital drawing, and find Sai tutorial been really difficult lately e.e, so I want to ask, should I keep practicing with Sai, or should I move to clip studio? I saw a lot of people are using it and is easy to find tutorial for clip studio.
which method is more efficient ways to draw the lineart? drawing all the lineart in one layer then color it or draw each separated part like hair, skin, clothes in each separate layer then color? im still new to this software and i get confused on how to even start to painting bcoz different tutorial doesnt explain on how to clip the layer like on which layer i should clip on another layer? at first i try to clip another layer to layer above and it get visible, idk what that mean
Omg Your art has improved. (I subscribed using a different account last year and I forgot to push the notification button so I haven't watched you in a year😂)
You asked for feedback. Even though this tut is 4 years old now, here's something needed. You gave a breakdown of the tools used in your project. Nice! But you did not specify your tool settings. I had to go looking for them in the speed paint section. Maybe my particular settings were enough, maybe defaults were good enough- touching on that would have been nice.
Hey guys, i have a really difficult draw to color, is there any other way to color it without using magic wand? You know, the selecting stuff. I worked with 2 layers, one for the sketch and one for the lineart. It would be really slow to use magic wand, because i like "raw" art, and my lines somewhere are too thin, like the wand can't select those thin gaps, and i would need to do it by pixels and actually my draw has a huge resolution. :/ Also if i use wand, i will just simply miss some little details, pixels which are not selected. It wouldn't really affect the look, since it's high resolution, but i like perfection.
hi I have a question, how did you change the software from time to time? like paintool sai exported on photoshop to edit and then back to sai again without merging the layer together? I have a little bit trouble to figure it out can you make a tutorial how you make that? or can you explain how you do it? thats really help thankyou I hope your respond.
hi enuj, I think she just changes the file type to .PSD when she opens it to Photoshop, and then re-saves it as Sai when she uses it back in Sai. Hopefully that makes sense!
@@Kitty-we6il like save the file for example the file name is "Art.sai" you have to rename that into ".psd" and it will automatically converted thats it? or you have to export first but I dont think there's a .Sai convertion from photoshop, Ugh I don't get it at all actually I've been watching all your tutorials video and it's really amazing however it's super fast and didn't even see how you do it. I hope you can show that on your video nexttime so that will guide us to get tips. Hehe I'll looking forward to it I like all your art btw.
Hello! I usually save it as .PSD because almost all art programs can open it! You have to click the "Save As" button and select that option, simply changing the name of the file won't do anything. Hope that helps ^^ ♥
I’m curious about what size do you usually make your canvas? Because I used to like to use thin lines like you but since I used such a big canvas the lines would pixelate on the final image.
Im curious. I like to do my lineart by hand with a dip pen but I prefer to color in digital, is there a way for me to color in sai without having to do the lineart there too?
Ooh I see! I think if you get a really clean picture/scan of your lineart with white paper as the background, you could use the layer mode "multiply" on the picture turning the white transparent. :>
I looked up compatibility for Procreate, and I think if you have iOS10 or higher- it should be able to open PSD (Photoshop Document) Files. So I converted the sai file to PSD for you, hopefully it works! c: Link: sta.sh/02fn3vqwl75e
Ah thank you for replying! I tried the link you gave me, unfortunately it didn’t work it says “Can’t import artwork. The artwork exceeds this devices capabilities.”
Ok so I fixed the problem, I couldn’t import the file into Procreate because of its size. So I imported the file into my other drawing app MediBang Paint Pro and it worked. Thank you for spending your time helping me, I truly appreciate it.
This is legitimately one of the best tutorials I've seen about anime illustration style skin in general

i've always been stuck when it's come to digital colouring, so i thank u for making this super easy to follow tutorial!
Aww thank you!! Glad it was helpful ; w ;/ ♥♥♥
Seriously, this has improved my art so much. Even though I don't draw anime, it still has significant results. I can't thank you enough, honestly!
it honestly shocks me how I can use the same tools as someone else and yet theirs is so incredible while mine is sub par... thx for this :)
Aww, no problem! I'm sorry you feel that way but a lot of it really comes down to drawing experience regardless of program.. c':
Old comment but.. Whether you like it or not, you will improve with practice!
