Mapungubwe is such an underrated gem in our opinion & we visit often either on route to & from Botswana or as long weekend getaways. We love the West of the park & Maloutswa Hide is incredible! The area around the camping & tents reminds me of Mana Pools. Pity you guys didn't do the off road 4x4 route - it's totally epic & a lot of fun to do!
Gavin & I are absolutely loving the videos from all of you guys! We are about to buy a Conqueror Comfort Platinum & learning SO much from you guys about camping do"s & don'ts all much needed as we have always been chalet dwellers so the info is invaluable!
Ps: I love the food & recipes you guy's do too!👌🏻

Wow, a place I have to go back to for sure. Yes, we were keen to do it, but alas, the ranger wasn't well, and only getting sorted now. Next time.
Glad you guys are enjoying our shows, and I know that the other chaps and I appreciate your support. May your conqueror bring you many great adventures, and remember, don't stress the small stuff in setup and tear down. Stop, look around and realise your moments in the places you visit. Keep well, stay in touch and we'll hopefully see you guys out there. Cheers Ryan

Luv yo adventures and thanks for showing off what African Tourism has to offer. I enjoy the videos man. I would love for you to show us the snakes in your videos besides the other animals.
The other thing I’ve noted is the poor conditions of the roads just wondering why the governments of the different countries you’ve visited invest in that?

Doesn't look like there is much inflow from Angola this year. It seems to be from the January - February rains around the Delta area..

Thank you, and glad you notice. Allot of work to get the images. I work with the Sony A6400 APSC camera. Love it as it is a hybrid camera, excellent for run and gun video, and quick to shoot a 24 mega pixel photo. Hope this helps and thank you for your support

Such a great channel! Out of interest how much reserve fuel do you carry? Particularly your Namibian trips?

    • @4x4ventures_southafrica
      @4x4ventures_southafrica  2 года назад +1

Hi Jonathan, I haven’t done Namibia yet, but maybe it happens soon. I normally carry 40ltrs of extra fuel on the roof. This will get me 200kms range, however, for a Namibia trip I might end up taking 80ltrs, depending on the trip itinerary and distances to fuel stations. I already carry 163 ltrs with the long range tank.

The videos that you, Edward and Christoff put out are amazing. Not just entertaining but so useful and informative. I have explored southern Kruger and was just in awe of everything and your videos help me to dream of new adventures when I next visit South Africa. I am a New Zealander currently in the UK but stayed at River Hill Lodge in Komatipoort last month which is a fantastic Lodge with great owners and staff. I have a question, what do you guys do for your day jobs?

Love watching all your vids it feels like we’re on an adventure with you guys! Hope your all staying well and safe.
Can we ask what do you reckon the likelihood of tourists coming into South Africa for July we moved our Safari from last year but I’m not hopeful not sure what the situation is like where you are?
Thanks in advance 😀 James and Ellie

Hey James and Ellie. Thank you again for the kind words. Always great to hear from you, and glad you enjoyed this one. Its always special and emotive for us with the wildlife. Really experiences that touch the soul, when they happen.
So, I reckon International travel is already happening. Botswana borders are open, South African borders are open, Namibian and Zimbabwe, but you need a COVID clear certificate that's not older than 48hrs from you GP, doctor.
We are now at the lowest level, level 1. Allot of restrictions have been eased. So yes, travel is happening. As for bookings, this is something you need to push and chase weekly. There is whispers of a third wave expected for winter. Our positive case numbers are very low, but we know how these numbers can change. I reckon you can travel, and should travel. There is no time like the present, and now it is ideal. Worst case you have a 3 month window, thereabouts. Maybe get a hold of a SA travel agent to chat about possibilities and timings etc. Good luck and we look forward to you guys coming back and supporting tourism, it has taken a heavy financial knock across all countries. Cheers, keep safe and stay in touch 🙌

Thanks Ryan that’s good to hear 😃 I hope it can happen and travel has to resume at some point and we’d love to help contribute to your gorgeous country have to stay positive during these times.
Hopefully you won’t have a 3rd wave as your vaccines are rolled out we had our Wednesday and they make your arms ache loads, Ellie had a raging fever and shakes lasted one day all okay now.
Hope you guys can get one soon. Take care and stay safe friend 😃

Shit mate, that doesn't sound too good. Glad she is better, and that you both okay now. You failed at selling it bud. We a bit worried with first round of vacs here. Let's keep fingers crossed that everything begins the process of normalisation. Yes, we also playing our part in helping the tourism get back on its feet. Shame, it has been tough for many many places, some have closed and others are holding on. We'll get there, sooner than later, buts that's my impatience. Have a fantastic weekend, keep your chin up and let me know when you lock in for an adventure, will be great to meet up

I love exploring the world. Botswana 🇧🇼, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Lesotho, eastern cape, Tzaneen, limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal. Enjoy mates. Maybe we'll bump onto each other one of the good days
